Abstract

The term "lightweight" refers to methods and devices for wireless communication. Various aspects relate to the creation and transmission of long-range training (LTF) and data streams in 320 MHz or 240 MHz bandwidth channels. An LTF consists of an LTF chain based on the concatenation of multiple LTF subchains, each LTF subchain linked to a channel bandwidth smaller than the total channel bandwidth, each of the multiple LTF subchains selectively phase-shifted to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio. Each of the multiple LTF subchains can be linked to an LTF designed for a channel bandwidth of 0 MHz. Subsequently, the LTF and data field can be transmitted in a single wireless packet to at least one second wireless communication device via a 320 MHz or 240 MHz bandwidth channel.
