The invention relates to an extended-release furazidine preparation for oral use, which may be used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs). The extended-release preparation for oral use contains: a) an immediate-release component, consisting of furazidine and one or more pharmaceutical excipients; and b) a variable-release component, consisting of furazidine, a controlled-release agent, and one or more pharmaceutical excipients.
