Abstract

The invention relates to methods and devices for wireless communication and computer-readable means. In some scenarios, transmitting SRS over the full SRS bandwidth may be unnecessary and / or inefficient. Therefore, methods for transmitting SRS over a bandwidth less than the full SRS bandwidth are needed. The invention describes techniques and solutions for transmitting SRS using only a portion of the full SRS bandwidth, or a partial SRS bandwidth. The invention depicts the transmission of SRS by using partial SRS bandwidth through probe samples using only partial SRS bandwidth and / or using partial SRS bandwidth by creating different SRS sequences configured for partial SRS bandwidth. The receiver receives the SRS configuration and indicates full SRS bandwidth; determines the frequency hopping pattern for the SRS transmission based on the SRS configuration, and the frequency hopping pattern is limited to a slightly smaller portion of the full SRS bandwidth; and transmits the SRS transmission to the base station based on the frequency hopping pattern.
