Abstract

Positioning refers to the methods and equipment used by users to transmit position information messages, position servers, and base stations to support positioning. User equipment (UE) reports its own position using reference position information messages and relative position information messages. The method exemplified by the first LIE includes the step of determining the first UE's position based on positioning measurements, transmitting a reference position information message indicating the first position, determining one or more subsequent positions of the first UE based on subsequent positioning measurements, and transmitting one or more relative position information messages. Each bulletin, among one or more bulletins, provides relative position information indicating the next position for the UE based on relative information with respect to the first position.
