Abstract

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) calibration techniques that help with errors in wireless nodes may include obtaining a set of wireless reference signal measurements including: The first, second, third, and fourth measurements of the reference signals travel between the mobile device, the first wireless node, and the second wireless node, where a portion of the reference signals is reflected by the RIS while traveling between the mobile device and the first or second wireless node. The difference value, including the difference between the third and fourth measurements, is also captured. The estimated location of the mobile device can then be determined, based at least in part on a set of wireless reference signal measurements, difference values, and the corresponding location of each of the first wireless node, the second wireless node, and the RJS.
