Abstract

The invention primarily allows the creation of a photocatalytic filter that achieves a good balance between deodorization efficiency and pressure drop by using a novel filter substrate material (porous metal body). The invention relates to a photocatalytic filter 6 obtained by bonding photocatalyst 5 to the filter substrate material 4. The basic material of the filter substrate 4 is composed of porous metal body 11. Given that t (mm) is the thickness t of the porous metal body 11 and c (ppí) is the average number of cells per inch of the porous metal body 11, the product of the thickness t and the average number of cells c, specifically (t*C), is between 100 and 400. The porous metal body 11 is preferably made from one or more materials selected from nickel, silver, copper, aluminum, nickel-chromium, nickel-tin, and nickel-iron. The porous metal body 11 containing nickel as a constituent material is preferred.
