Folding system and folding method

Abstract

The technique refers to the folding method and folding system used to fold the head (3A, 3B) of the cylindrical wall (3) of the fabric assembly (2) around the reinforced tire cord (4, 5). The system includes a drive device (20) arranged to make the fabric assembly (2) rotate intermittently around its winding axis (X3) in successive angular increments, along with a folding device (10) to make the pressing rollers (11, 12, 13) move at an angle after each angular increment to wind, around the translation axis (Y30) perpendicular to this winding axis (X3), to fold each part of this head (3A, 3B) located in the working area (A11, A12, A13) occupied by the pressing rollers (11, 12, 13) towards the radial inner face (3 in) of this wall, around this reinforced tire bead (4, 5) and finally the selector (40) to position these pressing rollers (11, 12, 13) in the withdrawal position to separate from the next trajectory of this wall (3) of this fabric assembly (2) during the winding of these pressing rollers.
