Abstract

The invention proposes methods and mechanisms for encoding cryptographic codes, methods and mechanisms for decoding cryptographic codes, methods to reduce decoding complexity and improve decoding speed, and chips and storage media that can be read by computers and communication systems. The encryption method includes: the step of obtaining the information bits; the step of adjusting the original kernel matrix to construct one or more kernel matrices and selecting a suitable target kernel matrix from one or more kernel matrices; and the step of performing polarization on the information bits based on the target kernel matrix. According to the encryption method, when constructing or selecting the kernel matrix, the efficiency and complexity of decryption are comprehensively considered. Therefore, the complexity of decryption can be reduced by choosing an appropriate kernel matrix for use in encryption. The decryption method includes: a step to obtain the sequence to be decrypted; and a step to decrypt the sequence based on multiple grids, where intermediate results obtained in different decryption stages can be reused. For example, in stage (t+i) of the decoding step, the intermediate result obtained in stage t of the decoding step is reused. According to the decoding method, the decoding complexity is significantly reduced.
