Wireless communication devices and methods at user devices and network entities

Abstract

The invention relates to methods, systems, machines and devices for wireless communication at user equipment and network entities. A user equipment (UE) can receive a synchronization signal block (SSB) comprising a physical layer cell identifier (PCI), in which one or more resource elements carrying the SSB overlap with resource elements carrying a shared downlink channel associated with another PCI. Other PCIs may be for a serving cell or another cell, such as a non-serving cell. The UE may also receive one or more demodulation reference signals (DMRS) in one or more resource elements in the shared downlink channel. The UE can determine whether overlap is permitted between resource elements by comparing the PCIs of the SSB and the shared downlink channel. In some examples, when the UE determines whether overlapping resource elements are allowed, the UE may handle DMRS.
