Abstract

In some encoding modes, such as the merge mode, the list of motion candidates is generated using spatial or time-dependent blocks or established blocks, and one of the motion candidates inherits from the current block. When constructing the list of motion candidates, the motion information of the added candidate is checked to limit redundancy in the established list.
