Abstract
The invention proposes a noise cancellation method selection block based on a covariance matrix in a 5G NR system using a digital design. Specifically, the noise cancellation method selection block performs the selection between the Maximum Ratio Combination (MRC Maximal Combination) method and the Interference Rejection Combination (IRC Interference Rejection Combination) method during uplink signal balancing. In the next-generation radio base station (gNodeB) of a 5G NR system using digital design, this selection block will rely on the properties of the covariance matrix of the noise to make decisions, specifically including: a covariance matrix calculator, a covariance matrix normalizer, a maximum value finder, and a decision threshold comparator. This contributes to improving service quality and increasing speed for end users in the 5th generation mobile network.
