The invention relates to a process for manufacturing infant formula including the step of mixing the nutritional components and supplement containing 2'-fucosyllactose (2'-FL) and a mixture of fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) to form infant formula that reduces the risk of gastrointestinal disorders and respiratory infections; where the ratio between 2,-fucosyllactose (2'-FL) and fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) mixture is 1:(16 - 100) (weight / weight), and the fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) mixture includes FOS and inulin in a ratio of 1:1 (weight / weight); where infant formula includes infants and young children.
