Abstract

Image processing refers to methods of image analysis, image analysis equipment, and tools capable of accurately evaluating the image signal values ​​of an object rendered in color using specific color-producing materials by utilizing the image signal values ​​of the color fragment. The invention's method involves acquiring the spectral characteristics of a colored object by using a specific color-producing material, acquiring the spectral characteristics of each of the color fragments made from color-producing materials other than the specific color-producing material, approximating the spectral characteristics of the object by using an approximate expression including the spectral characteristics of each of the color fragments such as the images, and acquiring the image signal value. The code is obtained by creating an image of each of the color segments by the imaging device and corresponding to the color of the image captured, for each color segment, and evaluating the image signal value obtained in the case where the object is imaged by the imaging device, based on the image signal value received for each color segment and the approximate expression.
