The invention relates to plated steel comprising a plating on the surface of the steel, which satisfies expression 1 as 0 < Cr+Ti+Ni+Co+V+Nb+Cu+Mn < 0.25 and expression 2 as 0 < Sr+Sb+Pb+B+Li+Zr+Mo+W+Ag+P < 0.50, and also satisfies expression 3 as I(MgZnz (41f31ữ)yiL(MgZn2) < 0.265 and expression 6 as 0.150 < {](MgZn2 (20f79o))+I(MgZnz (42>24°))} / iI(MgZnĩ) in the X-ray diffraction pattern of the plated surface measured by CuKa radiation under X-ray output conditions of 40 kV and 150 Ω.
