Alkaline silicate aluminum solutions and methods for producing them

Abstract

The invention relates to an aqueous alkaline silicate solution and a method for producing such a solution. The aqueous alkaline silicate solution has a P2O5 / SiO2 ratio of P2O5 concentration to SiO1 concentration in % by mass of 1.0 x 10⁻³ or more, SiO1 concentration in the range of 8.9% by mass to 16.7% by mass, and transmittance (%T) through an optical path length of 1 cm at a wavelength of 500 mm is 65% or more. The production method using a water-based silicate solution as a raw material for silicon oxide involves a wet process.
