Abstract

The invention relates to a method for decoding point clouds, including decoding the original quantization parameter (QP) value from the attribute parameter set. The method also includes determining the first QP value for the first attribute component of the point cloud data from the original QP value. The method also includes determining the QP deviation value for the second attribute component of the point cloud data and determining the second QP value for the second attribute component from the first QP value and from the QP deviation value. The method includes decoding the point cloud data based on the first QP value and also based on the second QP value. In addition, the invention also addresses the device and system for decoding point cloud data and the medium for storing immutable data readable by a computer.
