Abstract

The invention relates to a polarizing plate in which the displacement in the perforation is small even under high temperature conditions and in which air bubbles in the perforation can be substantially prevented when the perforation is filled by a pressure-sensitive binder to form a protective glass layer in a picture display device. The polarizing plate according to the design consists of: a polarizing layer; a protective layer applied at least on one side of the polarizing layer; and a pressure-sensitive binder. The polarizing plate has a perforation made on it. The polarizing layer has a thickness equal to or less than 15 µm, and the polarizing plate has a width of ½ or less than 45 µm, where ½ denotes the distance from the center of the perforation to one end of the polarizing plate in the direction of the absorption axis of the polarizing layer, and bz denotes the distance from the center of the perforation to the other end of the polarizing plate in the direction of the absorption axis of the polarizing layer.
