Abstract
The invention relates to a triplicate transition metal oxocarboxylate that can be used as a transition metal source in a homogeneous catalytic system. Specifically, the invention relates to the preparation of chromium oxocarboxylate for use as a transition metal source in an oleic oligomerization catalytic system, namely an catalytic system for oligomerizing ethylene into hexene-1, octen-1, decens and other olefins. More specifically, the invention relates to a transition metal oxocarboxylate preparation prepared by contacting: a. a transition metal precursor compound; and b. a carboxylic acid, essentially solvent-free, to prepare a transition metal oxocarboxylate preparation. The invention enables the preparation of transition metal oxocarboxylates that can be used as a transition metal source in highly active and highly selective olefin oligomer catalyst systems.
