Abstract

The invention proposes a waste treatment device capable of effectively treating waste. Waste treatment device (10) comprises a reaction vessel (11), an overflow detection device (13), an operating control device (14) and a baffle (15). The reaction vessel (11) has a lowest water level LWL at which the waste feed is started and a highest water level HWL at which the waste feed is stopped, and performs nitrification and denitrification. The baffle (15) divides the reaction vessel (11) into sections (15a) in which nitrification is performed and section (15b) in which denitrification is performed, and each baffle has the top end of the baffle (15d) between the lowest water level LWL and the highest water level HWL. The overflow detection unit (13) determines whether or not waste is in the overflow section (15a) at the top of the baffle (15d).The operating control unit (14) includes an overflow control unit (21) to control the amount of waste overflowing to the top of the baffle (15d), and a DO control unit (22) to control the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the waste in section (15a) when the waste in section (1 Sa) does not overflow to the top of the baffle (15d).
