IMPROVED NODE-B HANDOVER METHOD USED IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS, COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT, AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIA

Abstract

The invention relates to a method of handover between improved B nodes in a wireless communication system. According to the various schemes of the invention, the termination of the logic protocol can be performed between the user device and the target improved B node to signal the handover between improved B nodes. The handover mechanism and handover command packets in the invention allow for improved interoperability between improved B nodes deploying different protocol versions or between improved B nodes from different vendors, thereby enabling frequent protocol upgrades. Furthermore, the invention allows the target improved B node to deploy a new wireless configuration even if that configuration is not supported by the source improved B node. Moreover, the invention also relates to a communication device and a computer-readable means.
