Abstract

The invention relates to various techniques for wireless communication, specifically wireless communication methods performed by user equipment. In one respect, the user equipment (UE) can monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring event as defined by an active search space (SS) set. The UE can receive, during the PDCCH monitoring event, downlink control information (DCI). In response, the UE can activate at least one deactivated SS set based on the DCI and map the SS set to DCI type, DCI format, direction of transmission, or specific combinations thereof. In another respect, the UE can monitor a subset smaller than all PDCCH monitoring events as defined by the active SS set. The UE can receive, during PDCCH monitoring events, DC1. In response, the UE can monitor a larger number of PDCCH monitoring events as determined by the set of active events.
