METHODS FOR FORMING WORKPIECES USING THERMOPLASTICS

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for forming blanks from thermoplastic materials used to solve the problem of wasting leftover sheet material after die-cutting conventional carbon fiber thermoplastic sheets. The method consists of providing a carbon fiber thermoplastic sheet, a carbon fiber thermoplastic sheet with at least one die-cut section and one section to be machined, and the section to be machined is part of the carbon fiber thermoplastic sheet and not part of the die-cut section, the section to be machined forms at least one part of the thermoplastic material, hot-pressing the thermoplastic material with a die at a temperature of 200-350°C with a force of 15-30 tons for 20-40 seconds; cooling and solidifying the hot-pressed thermoplastic material.
