AI Technical Summary
When the bandwidth of existing wireless LAN technology increases, due to the limitation of maximum power spectral density, communication equipment can often only communicate at a power lower than the maximum transmit power, resulting in limited transmission rate and distance, and the Peak Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of data transmission ) is higher, affecting system efficiency.
Using physical resource units (PRUs) composed of discrete subcarriers to transmit data over a larger bandwidth enables the transmitter device to transmit data with greater transmit power, and reduces PAPR and improves system efficiency through the uniform distribution of subcarriers.
It achieves data transmission with greater transmit power over a larger bandwidth, reduces PAPR, makes full use of bandwidth resources, and improves system efficiency and communication quality.

Abstract
Description
Method, device, storage medium and program product for communication Technical Field
[0001] The embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of communications, and in particular to a method, device, storage medium, and program product for subcarrier planning. Background Art
[0002] Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) technology has evolved through multiple generations, from 802.11a / g, 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax, and now 802.11be. This evolution has been accompanied by continuous increases in data throughput, leading to the 802.11ax standard being referred to as a High Efficiency (HE) wireless standard, and the 802.11be standard being referred to as an Extremely High Throughput (EHT) wireless standard.
[0003] In terms of bandwidth configuration, the 802.11ax standard currently supports the following bandwidth configurations: 20MHz, 40MHz, 80MHz, 160MHz, and 80+80MHz. The difference between the 160MHz and 80+80MHz bandwidth configurations is that the 160MHz bandwidth is continuous, while the 80MHz bandwidth can be separated into two 80MHz bands. The 802.11be standard will support larger and more flexible bandwidth configurations, such as 240MHz / 160+80MHz and 320MHz / 160+160MHz. As bandwidth increases, the maximum transmit power of communications devices also increases accordingly. The maximum transmit power and maximum power spectral density of communications devices are subject to relevant national and local regulations. Compared to the maximum transmit power, the maximum power spectral density has stricter restrictions, and the maximum allowable transmit power is generally more limited by the power spectral density. Within a given bandwidth, to meet the maximum power spectral density restrictions, communications devices are often forced to communicate at a power lower than the maximum transmit power.

[0243] In the thirty-first implementation of the first aspect, a PPDU is sent or received on a total bandwidth of 320 MHz, wherein the total bandwidth includes a first portion of bandwidth and a second portion of bandwidth, each of which is 160 MHz, and the first portion of bandwidth and the second portion of bandwidth respectively include PRUs planned based on subcarriers corresponding to the first bandwidth.
[0244] According to the communication scheme disclosed herein, the subcarriers of the virtual resource unit (VRU) are discretely distributed over a larger bandwidth to form a PRU, allowing the transmitting device to transmit data with greater transmit power. Furthermore, because the discretized subcarriers are evenly distributed across the bandwidth in sections, this ensures that data transmission does not significantly increase the PAPR caused by discretizing the VRU's subcarriers. Furthermore, the aforementioned subcarrier division scheme enables the LTF (Long Training Field) corresponding to each user to have a lower PAPR. Based on this approach, the technical solution disclosed herein can fully utilize bandwidth resources and improve system efficiency.

[0246] In a first implementation of the second aspect, the PPDU includes indication information indicating whether the PPDU is transmitted or received using a virtual resource unit (VRU) consisting of contiguous subcarriers, or whether the PPDU is transmitted or received using a PRU. Therefore, based on the indication information, it can be determined whether the PPDU utilizes resource units formed by contiguous subcarriers or resource units formed by discrete subcarriers.
[0247] In a second implementation manner of the second aspect, a mapping relationship exists between the PRU and the VRU.

[0268] The following describes embodiments of the present disclosure in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Although certain embodiments of the present disclosure are shown in the accompanying drawings, it should be understood that the present disclosure can be implemented in various forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments described herein. It should be understood that the drawings and embodiments of the present disclosure are for illustrative purposes only and are not intended to limit the scope of protection of the present disclosure.
[0269] The technical solutions of the embodiments of the present application can be applied to wireless local area networks (WLAN) systems, and can also be applied to communication systems of other standards, such as: Long Term Evolution (LTE) systems, 5G systems, and other future communication systems. Taking the WLAN system as an example, the station (STA) and access point (AP) are the basic components of the WLAN system. Among them, the AP is the access point for mobile users to enter the wired network. It is mainly deployed in homes, buildings, and campuses. The typical coverage radius is tens of meters to hundreds of meters. Of course, it can also be deployed outdoors. The AP is equivalent to a bridge connecting the wired network and the wireless network. Its main function is to connect various wireless network clients together and then connect the wireless network to the Ethernet. Specifically, the AP can be a device with a WiFi (English: Wireless Fidelity, Chinese: Wireless Fidelity) chip, for example, a terminal device or network device with a WiFi chip. Optionally, the AP may be a device supporting the 802.11ax standard. Alternatively, the AP may be a device supporting multiple WLAN standards, such as 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b, and 802.11a. Furthermore, the AP may be a device supporting 802.11be and other future 802.11 standards. The embodiments of the present application do not limit the types of standards supported by the AP.
[0270] A STA is generally a terminal device in a WLAN system. It can be mobile or fixed and is the most basic component of a wireless local area network. A STA can be a wireless communication chip, wireless sensor, or wireless communication terminal, such as a mobile phone with WiFi communication capabilities, a tablet computer with WiFi communication capabilities, a set-top box with WiFi communication capabilities, a smart TV with WiFi communication capabilities, a smart wearable device with WiFi communication capabilities, an in-vehicle communication device with WiFi communication capabilities, or a computer with WiFi communication capabilities. Similarly, a STA can be a device that supports the 802.11ax standard, or a device that supports multiple WLAN standards, such as 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b, and 802.11a. Furthermore, a STA can also support 802.11be and other future 802.11 standards. The embodiments of this application do not limit the types of standards supported by STAs.

[0272] IEEE 802.11 is one of the current mainstream wireless access standards and has been widely used in commercial applications for nearly a decade. Communication equipment can transmit data over a certain bandwidth, where resources in the bandwidth can be arranged according to a predetermined subcarrier plan (Tone Plan). Taking the 802.11be standard as an example, it defines subcarrier planning based on continuous resource units (RU). Figure 1A shows a schematic diagram of subcarrier planning based on continuous RUs for a 20MHz bandwidth. As shown in Figure 1A, when the bandwidth is 20MHz, the entire bandwidth can be composed of a 242-tone RU, or various combinations of smaller RUs such as 26-tone RU, 52-tone RU, and 106-tone RU.
[0273] Figure 1B illustrates a contiguous RU-based subcarrier planning for a 40 MHz bandwidth. As shown in Figure 1B , when the bandwidth is 40 MHz, the entire bandwidth can consist of a single 484-tone RU or a combination of smaller RUs, such as 26-tone RUs, 52-tone RUs, 106-tone RUs, and 242-tone RUs. The subcarrier planning for a 40 MHz bandwidth can be considered a replica of the subcarrier planning for a 20 MHz bandwidth.
[0274] Figure 1C shows a schematic diagram of subcarrier planning based on contiguous RUs for an 80 MHz bandwidth. As shown in Figure 1C, when the bandwidth is 80 MHz, the entire bandwidth consists of four 242-tone RUs. The entire bandwidth can consist of a single 996-tone RU or various combinations of smaller RUs, such as 26-tone RUs, 52-tone RUs, 106-tone RUs, 242-tone RUs, and 484-tone RUs. 484L and 484R represent the left and right halves of a single 484-tone RU, respectively, each containing 242 subcarriers.
[0275] Similar subcarrier planning can also be used for other bandwidth configurations. For example, when the bandwidth is 160MHz or 80+80MHz, the corresponding subcarrier planning can be regarded as a copy of two 80MHz subcarrier plans, that is, the entire bandwidth can be composed of one 2×996-tone RU, or it can be composed of various combinations of smaller RUs such as 26-tone RU, 52-tone RU, 106-tone RU, 242-tone RU, 484-tone RU, 996-tone RU, etc. When the bandwidth is 240MHz or 160+80MHz, the corresponding subcarrier planning can be regarded as a copy of three 80MHz subcarrier distributions. When the bandwidth is 320MHz or 160+160MHz, the corresponding subcarrier planning can be regarded as a copy of four 80MHz subcarrier plans.
[0276] The various subcarrier plans above are all based on 242-tone RUs. The left side of the diagram corresponds to the lowest frequency, and the right side corresponds to the highest frequency. From left to right, the 242-tone RUs are numbered as RU 1, RU 2, RU 3, RU 4, and so on. It should be noted that in the data field, there are at most 16 242-tone RUs, corresponding one-to-one to the 16 20 MHz channels, from lowest to highest frequency.
[0277] In addition to the aforementioned RUs, the 802.11be standard also introduces the following RUs:
[0278] ●52+26-tone RU consisting of a regular 52-tone RU and a regular 26-tone RU;
[0279] A 106+26-tone RU consisting of a regular 106-tone RU and a regular 26-tone RU;
[0280] ●484+242-tone RU consisting of a regular 484-tone RU and a regular 242-tone RU;
[0281] A 996+484-tone RU consisting of a regular 996-tone RU and a regular 484-tone RU;
[0282] ●2*996+484-tone RU consisting of two regular 996-tone RUs and one regular 484-tone RU;
[0283] ●3*996-tone RU composed of three regular 996-tone RUs;
[0284] ●3*996+484-tone RU consisting of three regular 996-tone RUs and one regular 484-tone RU.
[0285] In the above bandwidth configuration, a single RU is composed of continuous subcarriers, also known as a continuous RU or nominal RU. In addition to the RU used to transmit data, it usually also includes guard subcarriers, empty subcarriers, direct current (DC) subcarriers, etc. It should be understood that the resource unit is a relative concept, and its size depends on the number of subcarriers (tones) included. In terms of bandwidth, 26-tone RU roughly corresponds to 2MHz, 52-tone RU roughly corresponds to 4MHz, 106-tone RU roughly corresponds to 8MHz, and 242-tone RU roughly corresponds to 20MHz. The sizes of other RUs can be obtained similarly according to the addition or multiple relationship, which will not be repeated here.
[0286] For the traditional nominal RU, it includes data subcarriers and pilot subcarriers that are continuously distributed in the frequency domain. The data subcarriers are used to carry data information from the upper layer, while the pilot subcarriers transmit fixed values for the receiving device to perform phase estimation, phase correction and other purposes. The nominal RU distributed on a 20MHz bandwidth contains 256 subcarriers with index values of [-128,…,0,…,127]. Table 1 shows the RU index and subcarrier range for various bandwidth configurations of 20MHz, where RU# identifies the RU index, [a,b] represents that the subcarrier range of the corresponding RU is from index a to index b, including a and b itself, {x,y,…} indicates that the corresponding index refers to the pilot subcarrier, and the number of elements in {} represents the number of pilot subcarriers.
[0287] Table 1 - RU index and subcarrier range for various bandwidth configurations of 20 MHz bandwidth
[0288]
[0289] Similarly, Table 2 below shows the RU index and subcarrier ranges for various bandwidth configurations of 40 MHz.
[0290] Table 2-RU index and subcarrier range for various 40MHz bandwidth configurations
[0291]
[0292] It should be understood that in addition to the strictly continuous RU, the 26-tone RU consisting of two consecutive 13-tones, the 484-tone RU consisting of two consecutive 242-tones (484L and 484R), and the 996-tone RU consisting of two consecutive 498-tones (996L and 996R) can be referred to as generalized continuous RU. For the subcarrier range of n×996-tone RU, when the bandwidth is 80MHz, the subcarrier range of the 996-tone RU is: [-500:-3,3:500]. When the bandwidth is larger, the subcarrier range of n*996-tone RU can reuse the formula of pilot subcarriers. For multi-RU, its subcarrier range and pilot index are the set of subcarrier ranges and pilot indices of each RU that constitutes the multi-RU.
[0293] When communications devices transmit data using WLAN technology, they are subject to both maximum transmit power and maximum power spectral density (PSD). For example, the US Federal Communications Commission recently issued regulations regarding the 6 GHz spectrum, which define low-power indoor (LPI) communication methods. According to these regulations, APs are limited to a maximum power of 36 dBm and a maximum power spectral density of 5 dBm / MHz. For STAs, their maximum power is limited to 24 dBm and a maximum power spectral density of -1 dBm / MHz. Compared to maximum power, the maximum PSD limit is more stringent, and the maximum power allowed is generally more influenced by PSD. As the transmission bandwidth increases, the maximum transmit power of a communications device also increases. As shown in Table 3 below, the transmit power reaches the maximum power specified in these regulations only when the bandwidth is 320 MHz. For relatively small bandwidths and RUs, in scenarios with limited PSD, communications devices are often forced to transmit data at power levels far below their maximum power, significantly impacting transmission rate and range.
[0294] Table 3 - Relationship between maximum transmit power and bandwidth in LPI scenario
[0295] Transmit bandwidth AP maximum power STA maximum power 20MHz 181240MHz 211580MHz 2418160MHz 2721320MHz 3624
[0296] In order to solve these problems, according to an example embodiment of the present disclosure, an improved solution is provided, which uses a physical resource unit (PRU) formed by discrete subcarriers to transmit data on a bandwidth larger than that of a continuous RU. In this way, the transmitting end device can transmit data with a greater transmission power. In addition, since the discretized subcarriers are evenly distributed over the entire bandwidth in sections, it is ensured that data transmission will not cause a large increase in PAPR due to the discretization of the subcarriers of the VRU. At the same time, the above-mentioned subcarrier division scheme can make the LTF (Long Training field) field corresponding to each user have a lower PAPR. Based on this approach, the technical solution of the present disclosure can make full use of bandwidth resources and improve system efficiency.
[0297] Hereinafter, example embodiments of the present disclosure will be discussed in detail with reference to FIG. 2 to FIG. 7 .
[0298] FIG2 shows a schematic diagram of a communication environment 200 in which embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. As shown in FIG2 , the communication environment 200 includes an access point AP 210 and stations STA 220-1 and 220-2 (also collectively referred to as station STA 220). In addition, the access point AP 210 accesses the Internet 230 via a wired or wireless connection. It should be understood that the communication environment 200 is only for exemplary purposes and does not imply any limitation on the scope of the present application. The embodiments of the present application may also be embodied in other network environments or architectures. In addition, it should also be understood that the communication environment 200 may also include other elements or entities for achieving communication connections, data transmission, network security, and the like. To simplify the description, these elements or entities are not shown in FIG2 , but this does not mean that the embodiments of the present application do not have these elements or entities.
[0299] An access point (AP) can provide wireless network coverage for STAs within a certain area. For example, access point AP 210 can associate with STAs 220-1 and 220-2 and conduct uplink and downlink communications using a predetermined protocol (e.g., IEEE 802.11), including point-to-multipoint and point-to-point transmissions. Furthermore, packet data based on various frame structures, such as physical layer protocol data units (PPDUs), can be transmitted between access point AP 210 and STA 220.
[0300] The network environment 200 according to an embodiment of the present application can be a wireless network that complies with any protocol currently known or to be developed in the future, including but not limited to WLAN based on standards such as 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b and 802.11a, Narrow Band-Internet of Things (NB-IoT), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Enhanced Data rate for GSM Evolution (EDGE), Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA), Code Division Multiple Access 2000 (CDMA2000), Time Division-Synchronization Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA), Long Term Evolution (LTE) and 5G NR network.
[0301] In some embodiments, the access point AP 210 may be, for example, a wireless router. The stations STA 220-1 and 220-2 may include wireless mobile devices, examples of which include but are not limited to: smartphones, laptops, tablets, smart wearable devices, or in-vehicle mobile devices.
[0302] The first implementation of the present disclosure
[0303] Based on the description of the current bandwidth configuration and subcarrier resource partitioning above, for resource units of the same size, the relative positions of pilot subcarriers within each resource unit RU are not necessarily the same. If a nominal resource unit RU is directly dispersed evenly over a larger bandwidth, some subcarriers may be mapped to the positions of the original pilot subcarriers, and some pilot subcarriers may also be mapped to the positions of the original data subcarriers, which is obviously detrimental to communication quality and data transmission.
[0304] According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, an improved communication mechanism is provided that utilizes physical resource units (PRUs) comprising discrete subcarriers to transmit PPDUs based on a specific subcarrier plan, with a mapping relationship between PRUs and VRUs. This mechanism may involve an access point 210 and a station STA 220 as shown in FIG2 .
[0305] The schematic diagram of reorganizing the physical resource unit PRU will be described below with reference to FIG3 .
[0306] As shown in Figure 3, taking a first bandwidth of 80 MHz as an example, it may include virtual resource units (VRUs), such as four 242-tone VRUs 311-314. According to subcarrier planning, the pilot subcarriers of 242-tone VRUs 311 and 313 have the same position in their respective RUs, and the pilot subcarriers of 242-tone VRUs 312 and 314 have the same position in their respective RUs. In practice, these four 242-tone VRUs 311-314 can be respectively allocated to one or more users for simultaneous uplink Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) transmission.
[0307] In step 1, the subcarriers of some VRUs in the group of VRUs 311-314 are reversed in the frequency domain, resulting in VRUs 311'-314'. As an example, 242-tone RUs 311 and 313 can be reversed. Alternatively, as another example, 242-tone RUs 312 and 314 can be reversed. In the example of Figure 3, the subcarriers of 242-tone RUs 312 and 314 are reversed. After the reversal, the pilot subcarriers of 242-tone VRUs 311'-314' have the same relative positions within their respective RUs.
[0308] In some example embodiments, after the head-to-tail reversal in step 1, a portion of consecutive subcarriers in VRUs 311'-314' may be further reversed in the frequency domain. For example, if 242-tone VRUs 311'-314' are each composed of two 106-tone VRUs, reversing the subcarriers of one 106-tone VRU in each of the 242-tone VRUs 311'-314' can make the distribution of pilot subcarriers in VRUs 311'-314' more uniform.
[0309] In step 2, the subcarriers in each 242-tone VRU 311' to 314' are indexed and divided into N RU segments, where N is the number of VRUs corresponding to the first bandwidth, where the first RU segment is {1, 5, 9, ..., 241}, the second RU segment is {2, 6, 10, ..., 242}, the third RU segment is {3, 7, 11, ..., 239}, and the fourth RU segment is {4, 8, 12, ..., 240}.
[0310] In step 3, N RU segments from different 242-tone VRUs 311'-314' are combined into N reassembled RUs. In other words, each reassembled RU includes N segments from different VRUs 311'-314', and every N consecutive subcarriers in the frequency domain correspond to a different 242-tone VRU 311'-314'. The reassembled RU formed in step 3 has a structure similar to data.
[0311] In the embodiment where a portion of consecutive subcarriers in the VRUs 311 ′- 314 ′ are reversed after step 1 , the portion of each reassembled RU corresponding to a portion of the VRUs 311 ′- 314 ′ may be reversed.
[0312] In step 4, the reassembled RUs corresponding to the reversed portions of VRUs 311-314 are reversed to obtain physical resource units (PRUs) 321-324. For example, if the subcarriers of 242-tone VRUs 311 and 313 were reversed in step 1, the subcarriers of reassembled RUs 321 and 323 are reversed in step 4. If the subcarriers of 242-tone VRUs 312 and 314 were reversed in step 1, the subcarriers of reassembled RUs 322 and 324 are reversed in step 4. This restores the effect of the processing in step 1 on the original RU division.
[0313] The PRUs 321-324 obtained based on steps 1 to 4 are evenly distributed on the first bandwidth 80M and occupy different subcarrier positions. In addition, the PRUs 321-324 have the same subcarrier division as the VRUs 321-324, and there is a mapping relationship between the PRUs 321-324 and the VRUs 321-324.
[0314] Although the first implementation is described using the first bandwidth of 80M as an example, the mechanism is also applicable to VRUs of other bandwidths (e.g., 160M, 320M, etc.) and other sizes. For example, when the first bandwidth is 160M, it contains 8 242-tone VRUs. Accordingly, in step 2, each VRU can be evenly spaced into 8 RU segments, and then in step 3, 8 reassembled 242-tone RUs are formed in a manner similar to Sudoku. As another example, when the first bandwidth is 320M, it contains 16 242-tone VRUs. Accordingly, in step 2, each VRU can be evenly spaced into 16 RU segments, and then in step 3, 16 reassembled 242-tone RUs are formed in a manner similar to Sudoku. In addition, the 320M bandwidth can be divided into two 160M bandwidths and similar operations are performed separately, which will not be repeated here.
[0315] In some example embodiments, the size of a resource unit (RU) may differ from a 242-tone RU, such as a 106-tone RU, a 484-tone RU, or a 996-tone RU. For example, when a group of 106-tone VRUs is discretized and reassembled, the operation may still be performed in 242-tone units, and the user only uses the discretized subcarriers corresponding to the 106-tone RU.
[0316] In some example embodiments, when performing the operations in block 3, multiple reassembly schemes that conform to a Sudoku structure may be obtained. A reassembly scheme may be selected that minimizes the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the LTF field corresponding to the user. Furthermore, such a reassembly scheme may be pre-configured at the transmitting and receiving ends of the communication, and the PPDU may be sent or received over the first bandwidth based on the reassembly scheme.
[0317] In some example embodiments, the PPDU may include indication information, or the transmitting end device may send indication information independent of the PPDU, to indicate whether the PRU used by the PPDU consists of continuous subcarriers or discrete subcarriers.
[0318] Second embodiment of the present disclosure
[0319] The second embodiment of the present disclosure involves a similar process to the first embodiment. A process 400 of generating a PRU including discrete subcarriers will be described below with reference to FIG.
[0320] As shown in Figure 4, for a first bandwidth comprising N 242-tone VRUs, in block 401, the subcarriers of a first group of VRUs among the N VRUs are reversed in the frequency domain to obtain transformed VRUs. As an example, the first group of VRUs may include VRUs with odd RU indices among the N 242-tone VRUs. Alternatively, as another example, the first group of VRUs may include VRUs with even RU indices among the N 242-tone VRUs. After reverse order, the pilot subcarriers of each VRU have the same relative position within its respective RU.
[0321] Optionally, after block 401, at least a portion of consecutive subcarriers in each VRU can be further reversed in the frequency domain. For example, the second and fourth 52-tone RUs in each 242-tone VRU can be reversed. Alternatively, the first and third 52-tone RUs can be reversed. This makes the distribution of pilot subcarriers in each 242-tone VRU more uniform.
[0322] In box 402, the subcarriers in the transformed N VRUs are indexed and divided into the following N RU segments: the first RU segment is {1, N+1, 2*N+1, …}, the second RU segment is {2, N+2, 2*N+2, …}, the third RU segment is {3, N+3, 2*N+3, …}…, and the Nth RU segment is {N, 2*N, 3*N, …}, where N is the number of VRUs corresponding to the first bandwidth.
[0323] In block 403, N RU segments from different VRUs are combined to form a reassembled RU, resulting in a total of N reassembled RUs. In other words, each reassembled RU includes a first RU segment, a second RU segment, and so on, all from different VRUs. Furthermore, in the frequency domain, every N consecutive subcarriers correspond to a different VRU. In other words, the reassembled RU obtained in block 403 has a structure similar to data.
[0324] If at least a portion of consecutive subcarriers in each VRU are reversed after box 401, then after box 403, the portion of each recombined RU corresponding to at least a portion of each transformed VRU can be reversed to restore the effect of the RU division.
[0325] In block 404, the reassembled RUs corresponding to the reversed VRUs among the transformed N VRUs are reversed to obtain N PRUs including discrete subcarriers. For example, if the subcarriers of the VRUs with odd RU indices are reversed in block 401, the subcarriers of the reassembled RUs with odd RU indices are reversed in block 404. If the subcarriers of the VRUs with even RU indices are reversed in block 401, the subcarriers of the reassembled RUs with even RU indices are reversed in block 404. Thus, the effect of the transformation in block 401 on the original RU partitioning can be restored.
[0326] The communication mechanism provided by the embodiments of this disclosure evenly distributes the continuous subcarriers of the VRU across a larger bandwidth, forming a PRU composed of discrete subcarriers that occupy the entire bandwidth. This enables the transmitting device to transmit data with greater transmit power. By evenly distributing the discrete subcarriers across the bandwidth, data transmission is ensured without a significant increase in PAPR caused by the discrete VRUs. Based on this mechanism, the technical solution of this disclosure fully utilizes bandwidth resources and improves system efficiency.
[0327] Third embodiment of the present disclosure
[0328] In a third embodiment of the present disclosure, an example process for discrete subcarriers in 996-tone RUs over a first bandwidth is provided. Assume that the first bandwidth may be 160 MHz or 320 MHz, including N 996-tone RUs, each of which may include four 242-tone RUs, such as a first 242-tone RU, a second 242-tone RU, a third 242-tone RU, and a fourth 242-tone RU.
[0329] When determining the PRU for transmitting the PPDU, the first group of 242-tone VRUs in each 996-tone VRU can be reversed in first place. For example, the second 242-tone RU and the fourth 242-tone RU of each 996-tone VRU, that is, the even-indexed 242-tone RU, can be reversed in first place and last place. Alternatively, the first 242-tone RU and the third 242-tone RU of each 996-tone VRU, that is, the odd-indexed 242-tone RU, can be reversed in first place and last place. The present disclosure is not limited in this respect. In this way, the positions of the pilot subcarriers within each 996-tone VRU after the transformation are more evenly distributed. It should be understood that the above steps are optional. In practice, it is also feasible not to perform the above steps.
[0330] The subcarriers of each 996-tone RU are indexed as {1,…,996}, and the indexed subcarriers are divided into the following N RU segments: the first RU segment is {1, N+1, 2*N+1,…}, the second RU segment is {2, N+2, 2*N+2,…}, the third RU segment is {3, N+3, 2*N+3,…}…, and the Nth RU segment is {N, 2*N, 3*N,…}, where N is equal to the number of VRUs corresponding to the first bandwidth.
[0331] Next, N RU segments from N different 996-tone VRUs are reassembled into N 996-tone PRUs. The reassembled 996-tone PRUs have a Sudoku-like solution: each 996-tone PRU consists of N RU segments: the first RU segment, the second RU segment, and so on. The N RU segments within the same reassembled 996-tone PRU all come from N different 996-tone VRUs. In terms of frequency, every N adjacent subcarriers in the first bandwidth come from N different 996-tone PRUs.
[0332] In some embodiments, if the optional step of first-order reversal of subcarriers is first performed when determining the PRU, the corresponding 242-tone PRU in each reassembled 996-tone PRU is then reversed, thereby eliminating the impact of the optional step on subcarrier division.
[0333] The communication mechanism provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure evenly distributes the continuous subcarriers of a VRU across a larger bandwidth, forming a PRU consisting of discrete subcarriers that occupy the entire bandwidth, while maintaining the original subcarrier resource partitioning. This allows the transmitting device to transmit data with greater transmit power. By evenly distributing the discrete subcarriers across the bandwidth, data transmission is ensured without a significant increase in PAPR due to the discrete VRUs. Therefore, the technical solution of the present disclosure fully utilizes bandwidth resources and improves system efficiency.
[0334] It should be understood that, based on the first to third embodiments of the present disclosure, a variety of subcarrier discretization schemes that conform to the Sudoku structure can be obtained. In practice, a specific subcarrier discretization scheme can be selected as needed and pre-configured at the transmitting end and the receiving end, and communication can be performed based on the scheme.
[0335] Tables 4 to 6 below provide RU indices, subcarrier ranges, and pilot subcarrier indices for different subcarrier plans based on the communication mechanisms proposed in this disclosure. These reconfiguration schemes can produce lower PAPR and better system performance. Of course, other reconfiguration schemes are also feasible.

[0352] It should be understood that the specific subcarrier planning shown in Tables 4 to 7 and the principles of the example embodiments of the present disclosure are also applicable to bandwidth configurations in which the total bandwidth or RU size is other values. For example, when sending or receiving PPDU on a total bandwidth of 320 MHz, the total bandwidth can be divided into a first bandwidth portion and a second bandwidth portion of 160 MHz each, and the subcarrier planning based on Table 6 or Table 7 can be applied to each bandwidth portion. As another example, for a total bandwidth of 320 MHz, it can be divided into a first bandwidth portion, a second bandwidth portion, a third bandwidth portion, and a fourth bandwidth portion of 80 MHz each, and the subcarrier planning based on Table 4 or Table 5 can be applied to each bandwidth portion, and so on. Therefore, bandwidth configuration and subcarrier planning based on similar principles will not be elaborated here.
[0353] Figure 5 shows a flow chart of a communication method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Method 500 can be implemented at the access point AP 210 shown in Figure 2 or at a STA end. For ease of discussion, method 500 will be described below in conjunction with Figure 2. It should be understood that method 500 is also applicable to other communication scenarios and devices.
[0354] The method 500 is described below using the AP 210 as an example. It should be understood that the method 500 may also be executed by a STA, for example, the STA 220 - 1 or the STA 220 - 2 may both execute the method 500 .
