Abstract
The invention relates to derivatives of 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphophenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO). These derivatives exhibit synergistic flame retardant activity with APP-PEI for flame retardation in epoxy substrates. With 5% by weight of DOPO derivative and 5% by weight of APP-PEI, the flame-retardant resin composite achieves a flame resistance level of V-0 and an LOI value of approximately 28%. In addition, this flame-retardant resin composite has good mechanical properties with an unnotched impact strength of approximately 27 kJ / m2.
