Abstract
The invention relates to a biodegradable drug-carrying material comprising: porous nanoparticles capable of biodegrading within a porous structure; which includes an organic material containing silane sulfide and alkoxysilane or aryloxysilane groups linked together by Si-O-Si covalent bonds; and a coating on the surface of the porous nanoparticles; which is capable of responding to acidic pH to release the drug and biodegrading under reducing conditions with glutathione at a concentration of at least 10 mM. The invention also relates to a method for producing such material.
