HAIR CARE PRODUCTS AND BANANA FLOWER EXTRACT

Abstract

The invention relates to a method of hair care involving the use of a preparation for a person in need. The preparation contains an effective amount of banana flower extract and a carrier, wherein the banana flower extract is compound I represented by formula (I) below, compound II represented by formula (II) below, or a combination thereof. The banana flower extract can be used to increase hair follicle diameters, strengthen hair follicles, reduce hair loss, inhibit dihydrotestosterone (DHT) production, promote hair growth, and increase hair follicle cell proliferation.
