Abstract

The constant volume measurement chamber system is designed to determine the fuel injection speed and quantity by varying factors such as injection strategy, fuel type, injector orifice diameter, base pressure, and injection pressure, simulating the compression stroke conditions of a diesel engine. The Zeuch method is used to measure injection speed, requiring the base pressure in the measurement chamber to be compressed with the same fuel as the test fuel. Once the test pressure is reached, high-pressure fuel from the injector is injected into the chamber, and a dynamic pressure transducer sensor (AVL GU12P) records the pressure change. The data is amplified (using a Kistler 5010B charge amplifier) and displayed via an oscilloscope, after which the injection speed is calculated based on formulas. This system allows for the study of the influence of operating conditions on injection characteristics without altering the measurement chamber structure, supporting engine control optimization.
