SOCKETS, SOCKETS AND CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY

Abstract

The invention proposes a plug, socket, and connector assembly. The plug comprises a base and at least one grounding cover. The base has a plate and several pairs of signal conductive pads and several grounding conductive pads arranged on either side of each pair of signal conductive pads arranged on the surface of the plate. At least one grounding cover is mounted on the surface of the base, and the grounding cover and base together enclose at least a portion of several pairs of signal conductive pads. The socket comprises several pairs of signal conductive pads and several grounding pads. When the plug is coupled to the socket, the grounding pads of the socket are electrically connected to the grounding cover, and each pair of signal conductive pads of the socket is electrically connected to a corresponding pair of signal conductive pads, wherein the grounding cover covers and protects the free ends of several pairs of signal conductive pads.
