Abstract

The invention relates to a display device containing a substrate with a display area and a transmission area. Multiple subpixels are arranged within the display area, each subpixel comprising a thin-film transistor with a gate electrode, source electrode, drain electrode, and active layer, and the first electrode is electrically connected to either the source or drain electrode. Multiple capacitors are constructed, each containing a capacitor electrode whose first is electrically connected to the gate electrode and whose second is electrically connected to either the source or drain electrode. The first and second capacitor electrodes are positioned to overlap within the transmission area, thereby allowing the capacitor area to be increased without enlarging the circuit region, while maintaining the transmission characteristics for light passing through the transmission area. This arrangement supports improved luminance stability in a compact pixel structure.
