Abstract

Cable organizers and external molding components to reduce stress and strain in the terminal assembly of a pluggable module and associated cable assembly are described. Examples of terminal assemblies include a printed circuit board (PCB), a board edge cable organizer fixed along the edge of the PCB, and cables extending to and electrically coupled to the PCB. The board edge cable organizer comprises one or more cable channels. Cables extend in and along the cable channels of the board edge cable organizer before being connected to the PCB. The board edge cable organizer may be fixed on the edge of the PCB in an overhanging arrangement. The board edge cable organizer may also include cable channels on the first and second sides of the board edge cable organizer, and the first and second cables may extend along the cable channels on the first and second sides of the board edge cable organizer before being connected to the PCB.
