Abstract

The invention relates to an adhesive tape for the encapsulation of cables in motor vehicles, specifically for use in the engine compartment of motor vehicles. The tape consists of a halogen-free and flame-retardant backing strip, and the backing strip is coated on at least one side with an adhesive coating made of a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The adhesive coating contains a halogen-free flame-retardant based on a single phosphorus-containing organic chemical compound with a melting point greater than 85°C.
