Abstract

The invention relates to a method of knitting fabric which allows the stitches (10) of any row of stitches to be in a high density state. More specifically, the invention relates to a method of knitting fabric which is to knit knit fabric using a flat knitting machine comprising opposing needle beds, a yarn feeder (6F) adapted to feed knitting yarn (6Y) between the needle beds, and a movable clamp (6G) adapted to clamp knitting yarn, the movable clamp adapted to be able to move in the direction along the length of the needle beds, differing in that the method comprises the following steps: step A to knit the first row of stitches (1), which is part of the knit fabric, using the yarn feeder; step B to clamp, using the movable clamp, the knitting yarn extends from the first row of stitches to the outside of the knitting range of the first row of stitches, step B is performed before or after step A; and step C to apply tension to the extended knitting yarn between the movable clamp and the first row of stitches.
