Abstract
This invention relates to an ammonium dinitramide-based high-energy composite material (ADNPMHS) coated with polymethylhydrosiloxane to reduce the hygroscopicity and mechanical sensitivity of DNA while maintaining the material's energy properties. The PMHS coating forms a continuous hydrophobic film surrounding the DNA particles, limiting moisture absorption from the environment and acting as a mechanical buffer to dissipate stress under impact or friction. The composite material is fabricated through a combined solvent-antisolvent crystallization and solvent evaporation process, allowing for uniform coating formation while controlling particle morphology and size, with low PMHS content, suitable for industrial scale expansion. The PMHS-coated DNA material as described in the invention can be used as an oxidizing agent in mixed solid fuels, smokeless fuels, and high-energy material systems.
