Crystallization system for producing spherical ammonium perchlorate (AP) crystals.

Abstract

The invention proposes a crystallization system for producing spherical ammonium perchlorate (AP) crystals by recrystallization using a corrosion-resistant, anti-static composite equipment system and an intelligent control system. The system comprises: (i) a partial dissolution tank that receives the AP suspension (containing pre-crystallized AP crystals) and heats it for a specified period to partially dissolve the AP crystals; and (ii) a spherical formation tank where the heated solution is stirred according to set parameters to control the recrystallization process, thereby forming nearly spherical AP salt crystals. The equipment and piping in direct contact with the AP solution are made from glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin (E-glass) composite material and carbon black powder in a mass ratio of 4:5:1.
