Production process of biochar micronutrient fertilizer pellets

Abstract

The invention relates to a process for producing micronutrient biochar fertilizer pellets comprising the following steps: (i) pressing biochar pellets from a mixture of biochar powder and liquid glass binder, in which: - biochar powder is present in an amount of 95 to 99% by weight, calculated by weight of the mixture; - liquid glass solution with a concentration of 1 to 5% is present in an amount of 1 to 5% by weight, calculated by weight of the mixture; (ii) spraying the micronutrient solution onto the surface of the biochar pellets; (iii) drying to obtain micronutrient biochar fertilizer pellets. The biochar fertilizer pellets of the invention have sufficient hardness for transportation and cultivation, but do not affect the inherent porous structure of the biochar. Thus, biochar still performs its inherent soil improvement role. In addition, trace elements are evenly absorbed into the surface structure of the biochar pellet, allowing for the slow release of trace elements and preventing leaching.
