Abstract

The invention is in the field of construction materials, specifically the fabrication of self-compacting heavy concrete with a flow width exceeding 500 mm and a bulk density exceeding 3300 kg / m³ for use in special construction projects. The self-compacting heavy concrete mixture consists of Portland cement, barite aggregate, polycarboxylate ether-based superplasticizer, and water, in which the superplasticizer is ground together with barite powder to a specific surface area of ​​4300 cm² / g and then mixed with cement; the aggregate mixture has an optimal particle size distribution with a particle size ratio of 40% (0 – 2.5 mm) and 60% (5 – 10 mm). The invention proposes a method for fabricating a self-compacting heavy concrete mixture consisting of the following steps: (i) fabrication of cement modified with superplasticizer; (ii) preparation of an optimal aggregate mixture with a particle size distribution; (iii) mixing of the material components; and (iv) evaluation of the workability of the concrete mixture.
