Abstract

This invention proposes a detailed 3D scanning system and method for mobile devices, particularly next-generation mobile phones with depth sensors, using a geometric processing mechanism with reliability management of measurement points in a synchronous, closed-loop integrated processing architecture from input to output. The system includes a sensor data acquisition block, a measurement point reliability evaluation block, a depth data processing block, a geometric data merging block, a 3D modeling block, an object-to-ground separation block, and a model comparison block. Depth data is processed using a multi-layer filtering mechanism combined with evaluation of depth variation, stability between consecutive frames, surface normal direction, and number of repeated observations to reduce flypoints and edge noise before 3D modeling. The system also supports data merging in adaptive three-dimensional spatial cells, automatic object-to-ground separation, and direct two-dimensional geometric error evaluation on the mobile device.The solution described in the invention improves the geometric stability of the scanned model, reduces manual post-processing operations, and shortens the time required for digitizing three-dimensional data.
