PROCESS FOR EXTRACTING AND RECOVERING CALCIUM-RICH MINERALS FROM ASH AND SLAG OF DOMESTIC SOLID WASTE INCINERATIONS

Abstract

The invention relates to a process for extracting and recovering calcium minerals from municipal solid waste incineration ash. The process described in the invention involves three steps: washing with water, extraction with citric acid, and recovery of Ca from the extract. The resulting material possesses important characteristics such as a significantly higher Ca content, while also containing undesirable Cl- salts and toxic heavy metals.
