Abstract

The invention relates to a mechanism for moving, opening, closing, and clamping the mold of an electrically operated plastic blow molding machine, comprising a support frame, two clamping plates mounted on the support frame, both of which are slidingly connected to the support frame and to a clamping force mechanism. The support frame is mounted on a base frame and slidingly connected to the base. To perform this movement, an electric motor connected to a drive shaft and linked to the support frame by a rotary joint is required. Two sets of rotary joint mechanisms are mounted on the support frame on the same shaft and directly connected to the base. The electric motor driving the opening and closing of the mold is mounted on one side of the suspension mechanism, acting on the second mold clamp through a rotary joint and a sliding bar. The two mold clamps move symmetrically with respect to each other by a set of connecting arms rotating around a fixed axis, directly connected to the first and second mold clamps.The two molds will be pressed tightly together by a suspension mechanism, creating a large clamping force that improves the quality of molding and trimming excess material, as well as locking them in place during blowing.
