Abstract

The invention relates to an environmentally friendly carpet making composition comprising recycled polymer fragments, recycled fiber fragments, and a polyether-based binder. The recycled polymer fragments have an average particle size of 0.3 mm to 5 mm and the recycled fiber fragments have an average fiber length of 0.3 mm to 5 mm. The recycled polymer fragments are TPU and / or EVA copolymers and are derived from recycled shoe insoles, waste generated during the production of TPU and / or EVA copolymers, and excess material generated during the production of shoe insoles. The recycled fiber fragments consist of plant fibers, animal fibers, and / or synthetic fibers and are derived from fabrics attached to recycled shoe insoles. For 100 parts by weight of the polyether-based binder, the composition contains between 260 and 340 parts by weight of recycled polymer fragments and between 10 and 100 parts by weight of recycled fiber fragments.
