Abstract

The invention relates to a steering lock device (20) which includes a rotating operating knob (26); a joint (27) which can rotate in sync with the operating knob (26); a contact holder (32) which can rotate in sync with the joint (27); a positioning mechanism (33) which positions the contact holder (32); a locking element (38) which moves to the engaged position through the joint (27) by the rotation of the operating knob (26); a coiled spring (41) which springs the locking element (38) to the unengaged position. Rotating restraints (27d) and (40g) which restrain the rotation of the joint (27) when the operating knob (26) is in the locked position (22c) are arranged between the joint (27) and the locking element (38).
