Display devices and liquid crystal display panel manufacturing methods

Abstract

The invention proposes a liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel, configured to improve the transmittance of the sensing area and thereby increase the recognition rate of the optical device. The display device comprises a liquid crystal display panel whose active area is defined by pixel regions formed by overlapping gate lines and data lines, and whose border is located outside the active area. The sensing area is located within the active area and overlaps with the optical device located beneath the panel. The backlight unit is located beneath the liquid crystal display panel. In the active area, excluding the sensing area, the data lines consist of a metallic material, while in the sensing area, the data lines consist of a transparent conductive material, thereby improving optical transmittance through the sensing area without the need for additional masking processes during fabrication.
