Abstract

The invention proposes a display device comprising a backlight unit. This backlight unit is capable of providing light to a liquid crystal display panel. For example, this backlight unit may include blue light sources (212) arranged side-by-side on an optical substrate. A color-changing plate (240) may be stacked sequentially on top of the blue light sources (212). The color-changing plate (240) may emit light of a non-blue color in all directions by utilizing the blue light emitted from the blue light sources (212). This blue light may be diffused in all directions by the color-changing plate (240). Thus, in this display device, the appearance of spots due to differences in the direction of blue light and light of a non-blue color is possible to be prevented.
