Abstract

The invention relates to an adjustable dumbbell system and a method for adjusting the weight. The adjustable dumbbell system comprises: a base; multiple dumbbells designed to be placed on the base; and fixed, detachable adjustable dumbbells attached to the base. The dumbbells comprise a rotatable handle, a gear mechanism, and two extension elements. The rotatable handle is connected to the gear mechanism, which extends the extension elements along the respective extension axes of the handle to attach one or more dumbbells from the base.
