Abstract
Description
Spatial multiplexing method, device, equipment and medium Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of wireless local area networks, and more particularly, to a spatial multiplexing method, device, and medium. Background Art
[0002] Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) standards have evolved through several generations, including 802.11a / b / g, 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax, and the currently under discussion 802.11be. 802.11n is known as High Throughput (HT), 802.11ac as Very High Throughput (VHT), 802.11ax as High Efficient (HE), and 802.11be as Extremely High Throughput (EHT).
[0003] 802.11ax WLAN devices, such as access points and stations, only support half-duplex transmission. This means that within the same spectrum bandwidth or channel, only one device can transmit. Other devices can only receive signals but cannot transmit, to avoid interference with the currently transmitting device. However, as the density of WLAN devices increases, overlapping basic service sets (BSSs)—overlapping BSSs (OBSSs)—are becoming increasingly common. Traditional methods can significantly reduce transmission efficiency. To address this issue, 802.11ax proposes spatial reuse, which adaptively adjusts transmit power to enable devices in overlapping BSSs to transmit simultaneously, improving transmission efficiency. However, 802.11ax's spatial reuse method suffers from significant interference between devices and low system efficiency.
[0004] Summary of the Invention
[0005] The present disclosure provides a spatial multiplexing solution.
[0006] In a first aspect of the present disclosure, a spatial multiplexing method is provided. In this method, a first spatial multiplexing device receives part or all of a PSRR PPDU sent by a second spatial multiplexing device on a first frequency band. The first frequency band includes one or more subbands with the same bandwidth. Based on the value of a spatial multiplexing parameter (SRP) with the bandwidth as the granularity and the received power level (RPL) of the PSRR PPDU with the bandwidth as the granularity, the first spatial multiplexing device determines a reference transmit power for sending a PSRT PPDU on a second frequency band. The second frequency band includes one or more subbands with the bandwidth, and the second frequency band at least partially overlaps with the first frequency band. The RPL of the PSRR PPDU with the bandwidth as the granularity is determined based on one or more of the following: one or more subbands in the first frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device; or unpunctured subbands in the first frequency band or the second frequency band.
[0007] In some implementations, the reference transmit power is determined for the entire second frequency band.
[0008] In some implementations, the RPL with the bandwidth granularity is determined based on overlapping subbands between one or more subbands in the first frequency band and the second frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device.
[0009] In some implementations, the bandwidth-granular RPL is determined based on one of the following: the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in one or more subbands in the first frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device, or the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in an overlapping subband between one or more subbands in the first frequency band and the second frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device.
[0010] In some implementations, the reference transmit power is determined based on one of the following: the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in the second frequency band, or the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in an overlapping subband between one or more subbands in the first frequency band and the second frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device.
[0011] In certain implementations, the first spatial multiplexing device determines the unpunctured subbands in the first frequency band based on at least one of the following: puncture indication information contained in a preamble in a received PSRR PPDU, puncture indication information contained in the PSRR PPDU, where the PSRR PPDU is a non-high throughput copy PPDU, or puncture indication information contained in a management frame of a basic service set BSS where the second spatial multiplexing device is located, where the management frame includes at least one of the following frames: a beacon frame, an association response frame, a probe response frame, a neighbor report frame, or a reduced neighbor report frame.
[0012] In certain implementations, wherein the first spatial multiplexing device determines to puncture the PSRT PPDU, the first spatial multiplexing device adjusts the reference transmit power based on a predetermined offset.
[0013] In some implementations, the value of the SRP with bandwidth granularity is adjusted by the second spatial multiplexing device based on a predetermined offset for the punctured PSRR PPDU.
[0014] In some implementations, the first frequency band includes multiple sub-bands, and the value of the SRP with bandwidth as granularity is a minimum value among multiple values of the SRP for the multiple sub-bands.
[0015] In some implementations, determining a reference transmit power for transmitting a PSRT PPDU on a second frequency band includes determining, by a first spatial multiplexing device, a reference transmit power for transmitting a PSRT PPDU on a subband in a first frequency band based on a value of an SRP for the subband and an RPL of the PSRR PPDU in the subband, wherein the subband in the first frequency band is included in the second frequency band.
[0016] In some implementations, for a punctured subband in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band, the first spatial multiplexing device determines that the PSRT PPDU is not allowed to be transmitted on the punctured subband; or the first spatial multiplexing device determines the reference transmit power on the punctured subband to be less than a predefined maximum transmit power.
[0017] In some implementations, for a punctured subband in an overlapping subband between a second frequency band and a first frequency band, the first spatial multiplexing device determines a reference transmit power on the punctured subband based on one or more reference transmit powers determined for one or more non-punctured subbands in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band.
[0018] In some implementations, determining a reference transmit power on a punctured subband includes the first spatial multiplexing device determining the reference transmit power on the punctured subband as a minimum reference transmit power among multiple reference transmit powers determined for multiple unpunctured subbands or an average power of multiple reference transmit powers.
[0019] In certain implementations, for a punctured subband in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band, the first spatial multiplexing device determines a reference transmit power on the punctured subband based on a value of an SRP for the punctured subband.
[0020] In a second aspect of the present disclosure, a spatial multiplexing method is provided. In this method, for a subband to be punctured in a first frequency band including multiple subbands with the same bandwidth for transmitting a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU), a second spatial multiplexing device determines the value of a corresponding spatial multiplexing parameter SRP by one of the following operations: adjusting the value of the SRP based on a predetermined offset; setting the value of the SRP to a first value to indicate to other spatial multiplexing devices that transmission on the subband to be punctured of the PPDU is prohibited; or setting the value of the SRP to a second value to indicate to other spatial multiplexing devices that transmission on the subband to be punctured is allowed. Subsequently, the second spatial multiplexing device transmits the punctured PPDU on an unpunctured subband in the first frequency band, and the trigger frame carried in the PPDU includes the determined value of the SRP.
[0021] In a third aspect of the present disclosure, a communication device is provided. The device includes a receiving module and a first determining module. The receiving module is configured to receive, through a first spatial multiplexing device, part or all of a PSRR PPDU sent by a second spatial multiplexing device on a first frequency band, the first frequency band including one or more subbands with the same bandwidth. The first determining module is configured to determine, through the first spatial multiplexing device, a reference transmit power for sending a PSRT PPDU on the second frequency band based on a value of a spatial multiplexing parameter SRP with the bandwidth as granularity and a received power level RPL of the PSRR PPDU with the bandwidth as granularity. The RPL of the PSRR PPDU with the bandwidth as granularity is determined based on one or more of the following: one or more subbands in the first frequency band occupied by part or all of the received PSRR PPDU; or unpunctured subbands in the first frequency band or the second frequency band.
[0022] In some implementations, the reference transmit power is determined for the entire second frequency band.
[0023] In some implementations, the RPL with the bandwidth as the granularity is determined based on overlapping subbands between one or more subbands in the first frequency band and the second frequency band occupied by part or all of the received PSRR PPDU.
[0024] In some implementations, the RPL with the bandwidth as the granularity is determined based on one of the following: the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in one or more subbands in the first frequency band occupied by part or all of the received PSRR PPDU, or the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in an overlapping subband between one or more subbands in the first frequency band and the second frequency band occupied by part or all of the received PSRR PPDU.
[0025] In some implementations, the reference transmit power is determined based on one of the following: the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in the second frequency band, or the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in an overlapping subband between one or more subbands in the first frequency band and the second frequency band occupied by part or all of the received PSRR PPDU.
[0026] In some implementations, the apparatus further includes a second determining module. The second determining module is configured to determine the unpunctured subband in the first frequency band based on at least one of the following: puncture indication information included in a preamble of a received PSRR PPDU; puncture indication information included in a PSRR PPDU, where the PSRR PPDU is a non-high throughput copy PPDU; or puncture indication information included in a management frame of a basic service set (BSS) in which the second spatial multiplexing device is located, where the management frame includes at least one of the following frames: a beacon frame, an association response frame, a probe response frame, a neighbor report frame, or a reduced neighbor report frame.
[0027] In some implementations, the apparatus further includes a third determining module configured to determine, via the first spatial multiplexing device, to puncture the PSRT PPDU. The apparatus further includes an adjusting module configured to adjust, via the first spatial multiplexing device, the reference transmit power based on a predetermined offset.
[0028] In some implementations, the value of the SRP with bandwidth granularity is adjusted by the second spatial multiplexing device based on a predetermined offset for the punctured PSRR PPDU.
[0029] In some implementations, the first frequency band includes multiple sub-bands, and the value of the SRP with the bandwidth as the granularity is a minimum value among multiple values of the SRP for the multiple sub-bands.
[0030] In some implementations, the first determination module is configured to determine, through the first spatial multiplexing device, a reference transmit power for transmitting the PSRT PPDU on a subband based on a value of an SRP for a subband in the first frequency band and a RPL of a PSRR PPDU in the subband, where the subband in the first frequency band is included in the second frequency band.
[0031] In some implementations, the first determination module is configured to determine, through the first spatial multiplexing device, for a punctured subband in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band, that PSRT PPDU is not allowed to be sent on the punctured subband; or to determine, through the first spatial multiplexing device, a reference transmit power on the punctured subband to be less than a predefined maximum transmit power.
[0032] In some implementations, the first determination module is configured to determine, for a punctured subband in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band, a reference transmit power on the punctured subband based on one or more reference transmit powers determined for one or more non-punctured subbands in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band by the first spatial multiplexing device.
[0033] In some implementations, the first determination module is configured to determine, through the first spatial multiplexing device, the reference transmit power on the punctured subband as the minimum reference transmit power among multiple reference transmit powers determined for multiple non-punctured subbands or the average power of multiple reference transmit powers.
[0034] In some implementations, the first determination module is configured to determine, for a punctured subband in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band, a reference transmit power on the punctured subband based on a value of an SRP for the punctured subband by the first spatial multiplexing device.
[0035] In a fourth aspect of the present disclosure, a communication device is provided. The communication device includes a fourth determination module and a sending module. The fourth determination module is configured to determine the value of the corresponding spatial multiplexing parameter SRP for a subband to be punctured in a first frequency band including multiple subbands with the same bandwidth for sending a physical layer protocol data unit PPDU by one of the following operations: adjusting the value of the SRP based on a predetermined offset; setting the value of the SRP to a first value to indicate to other spatial multiplexing devices that transmission is prohibited on the subband to be punctured in the PPDU; or setting the value of the SRP to a second value to indicate to other spatial multiplexing devices that transmission is allowed on the subband to be punctured. The sending module is configured to send the punctured PPDU on an unpunctured subband in the first frequency band, and the trigger frame carried in the PPDU contains the determined value of the SRP.
[0036] In a fifth aspect of the present disclosure, a communication device is provided, comprising: a processor; the processor is coupled to a memory, the memory storing instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the method according to the first or second aspect of the present disclosure to be executed.

The term "station," or "STA," as used herein, refers to a user terminal that can access a desired service through an access point (AP). [0060] WLAN devices, such as APs and STAs, operate in unlicensed spectrum and compete for channels to transmit physical layer protocol data units (PPDUs) or other data packets or groups. As mentioned earlier, with the increasing density of WLAN devices, it is becoming increasingly common for one Basic Service Set (BSS) to fall within the Basic Service Area of another BSS, forming an overlapping Basic Service Set (OBSS). To address this situation, 802.11ax proposes a spatial reuse method that adaptively adjusts transmit power to enable devices in overlapping BSSs to transmit simultaneously.
[0061] FIG1 is a schematic diagram showing an OBSS formed by partial overlap of one BSS and another BSS.
[0062] First, let's discuss overlapping basic service sets (OBSSs). If a basic service set (BSS) not associated with a site operates on the same frequency band (also called a channel) as a BSS associated with the site, and the unassociated BSS (partially or completely) is within the basic service area of the associated BSS, the unassociated BSS is called the overlapping basic service set (OBSS) of the site. A basic service area is the area containing the members of the basic service set, which may also include members of other BSSs.
[0063] In the example shown in Figure 1 , BSS 105 (labeled BSS1) and BSS 110 (labeled BSS2) partially overlap and serve as OBSSs. In Figure 1 , AP 115 (labeled AP1), STA 120 (labeled STA1), and STA 125 (labeled STA3) belong to BSS 105, while AP 130 (labeled AP2) and STA 135 (labeled STA2) belong to BSS 110.
[0064] Because the basic service areas of BSS1 and BSS2 partially overlap, as shown in Figure 1, when AP1 in the same BSS1 is transmitting data to STA1, AP2 in another BSS2 can receive the information sent by AP1 and STA1. Furthermore, AP2 can also receive information sent by STA3. At this point, AP2 can adaptively adjust the power of the PPDU it sends to STA2 based on the spatial multiplexing parameters transmitted by AP1, thereby enabling simultaneous transmission within the OBSS. Similarly, when AP2 in the same BSS2 is transmitting data to STA2, AP1 in another BSS1 can receive the information sent by AP2. At this point, AP1 can also adaptively adjust the power of the PPDU it sends to STA1 and / or STA3 based on the spatial multiplexing parameters transmitted by AP2, thereby enabling simultaneous transmission within the OBSS.
[0065] AP1 or AP2 can transmit spatial multiplexing parameters via a trigger frame in the uplink scheduling transmission process based on the trigger frame. The uplink scheduling transmission process based on the trigger frame is described below with reference to FIG2 to FIG4.
[0066] First, refer to FIG2 , which shows a schematic diagram of an example frame format in uplink scheduling transmission based on a trigger frame in the 802.11ax standard.
[0067] As shown in Figure 2 , during trigger frame-based uplink scheduled transmission, AP1 may first send a trigger frame 205. Trigger frame 205 includes resource scheduling and other parameters for one or more STAs to transmit uplink PPDUs. An example format of trigger frame 205 is shown in Figure 3 . As shown in Figure 3 , trigger frame 205 includes a common information field 305 and a user information list field 310. Common information field 305 contains common information that all STAs need to read. User information list field 310 includes one or more user information fields 315 containing information that the corresponding STA needs to read.
[0068] FIG4 is a schematic diagram showing the frame format of the common information field 305 and the user information field 315 in the trigger frame 205 .
[0069] As shown in Figure 4, the common information field 305 includes an uplink spatial reuse (UL Spatial Reuse) subfield 405. In the user information field 315, the association identification 12 (AID12) subfield 410 indicates the association identifier of a particular STA, and the resource unit allocation subfield (RU Allocation) 415 is used to indicate the specific resource unit (RU) location allocated to the STA (the STA indicated by AID12).
[0070] After receiving the trigger frame 205, STA1 and / or STA3 parses the user information field 315 that matches its own AID from the trigger frame 205, and then sends an efficient trigger-based data packet, such as a High Efficient Trigger Based Physical layer Protocol Data Unit (HE TB PPDU) 210, on the RU indicated by the resource unit allocation subfield 415 in the user information field 315, as shown in Figure 2. STA1 and / or STA3 may also copy the UL Spatial Reuse field 405 in the received trigger frame 205 to the High Efficient Signal Field A (HE-SIG-A) field 220 in the HE TB PPDU 210.
[0071] After receiving the HE TB PPDU 210 , AP1 sends an acknowledgement frame 215 to STA1 and / or STA3 to confirm that AP1 has received the HE TB PPDU 210 .
[0072] The meaning and function of each field that may be included in the HE TB PPDU 210 shown in FIG. 2 may be referred to as shown in Table 1 below.
[0073] Table 1
[0074]
[0075]
[0076] The trigger frame 205 sent by AP1 can be received not only by its associated STA1 or STA3 but also by AP2 within the OBSS. Based on the information in the uplink spatial multiplexing subfield 405 of trigger frame 205, AP2 can perform spatial multiplexing transmission with AP1 within the OBSS. An example process for spatial multiplexing transmission between AP1 and AP2 will be discussed below with reference to Figure 5.
[0077] FIG5 shows a schematic diagram of an example spatial multiplexing transmission process 500 of 802.11ax.
[0078] First, AP1 (i.e., AP 115) sends a Parameterized Spatial Reuse Reception (PSRR) PPDU 505 containing a trigger frame 205 to STA1. As shown in Figure 6, the common information field 305 in the trigger frame 205 includes an uplink spatial reuse (UL Spatial Reuse) field 405, which carries the uplink spatial reuse parameter (UL SRP). The UL SRP value represents AP1's transmit power plus the maximum interference power that AP1 can accept. When the operating frequency band of AP 115 has different bandwidths, the values of UL SRP1 to UL SRP4 are set as follows:
[0079] When the bandwidth is 20 MHz, UL SRP1 = UL SRP2 = UL SRP3 = UL SRP4, indicating that the UL SRP values in the 20 MHz bandwidth are equal.
[0080] When the bandwidth is 40 MHz, UL SRP1 = UL SRP3 for the first 20 MHz subband (also called a subchannel or subblock), and UL SRP2 = UL SRP4 for the second 20 MHz subband. To prevent confusion caused by channel assignment, when the bandwidth is 2.4 GHz, UL SRP1 = UL SRP2.
[0081] When the bandwidth is 80 MHz, the four UL SRPs represent four 20 MHz sub-bands.
[0082] When the bandwidth is 160 MHz, the four UL SRPs represent any 20 MHz sub-band in the four 40 MHz sub-bands, and the values of the two 20 MHz sub-bands in a 40 MHz sub-band are the same.
[0083] The bandwidth is indicated by the uplink bandwidth (UL BW) field 420 of the common information field 305 of the trigger frame 205 shown in FIG. 4 .
[0084] The UL SRP value is determined by AP1 and is equal to the transmit power of AP1 + its maximum acceptable interference power.
[0085] STA1 copies the UL Spatial Reuse field 405 in the received trigger frame 205 to the HE-SIG-A field 220 in the HE TB PPDU 210 to be sent, as shown in Figure 2. At the same time, AP2 also receives the trigger frame 205 sent by AP1. After receiving the HE TB PPDU 210 (determining that STA1 has indeed sent the HE TB PPDU 210), it calculates the power used to send the Parameterized Spatial Reuse Transmission (PSRT) PPDU based on the received power level (RPL) of the PSRR PPDU 505, the values of the four UL SRP1 to UL SRP4, and / or the values of the four SRP1 to SRP4 in the HE TB PPDU. The transmission power needs to meet the following requirements:
[0086] AP2 sends PSRT PPDU transmit power ≤ SRP – RPL, formula (A)
[0087] Afterwards, upon detecting the transmission of the HE TB PPDU 210, AP2 transmits the PSRT PPDU 510 according to the power calculated by the above formula (A):
[0088] In the above formulas,
[0089] RPL represents the power within the PSRR PPDU frequency band;
[0090] AP2 sends PSRT PPDUs with a transmit power normalized to 20 MHz.
[0091] SRP: If HE TB PPDU bandwidth is less than 160 MHz, it is normalized to 20 MHz; if HE TB PPDU bandwidth = 160 MHz, it is normalized to 40 MHz.
[0092] Through research, the inventors discovered that the aforementioned 802.11ax spatial multiplexing transmission method has the following drawbacks: It fails to specifically consider transmit power normalization and the bandwidth mismatch between PSRT PPDUs and PSRR PPDUs. Furthermore, this method fails to account for power normalization when preamble puncturing is present in PSRT PPDUs and / or PSRR PPDUs. This results in inaccurate transmit power calculations by APs and further leads to interference between APs, reducing system throughput.
[0093] Therefore, an embodiment of the present disclosure proposes an improved spatial multiplexing mechanism. According to this mechanism, during the spatial multiplexing transmission process between two devices (respectively referred to as the first spatial multiplexing device and the second spatial multiplexing device), the first spatial multiplexing device normalizes the value of SRP and the received power level (RPL) of PSRR PPDU to the bandwidth of the subband when determining the transmit power of PSRT PPDU on its working frequency band. Specifically, after receiving the PSRR PPDU sent by the second spatial multiplexing device on its working frequency band (referred to as the first frequency band, which includes one or more subbands with the same bandwidth), the first spatial multiplexing device determines the reference transmit power for sending PSRT PPDU on its working frequency band (referred to as the second frequency band, which also includes one or more subbands with the same bandwidth) based on the value of SRP with the bandwidth as the granularity and the received power level (RPL) of PSRR PPDU with the bandwidth as the granularity.
[0094] Furthermore, the first spatial multiplexing device determines the RPL of the PSRR PPDU based on the bandwidth granularity based on one or more subbands in the first frequency band occupied by part or all of the received PSRR PPDU and / or unpunctured subbands in the first frequency band or the second frequency band. In this way, the first spatial multiplexing device can consider the bandwidth matching and / or puncturing of the PSRT PPDU and the PSRR PPDU when calculating the transmit power of the PSRT PPDU.
[0095] In this way, the first spatial multiplexing device can simultaneously consider bandwidth normalization and the bandwidth matching and / or puncturing of the PSRT PPDU and PSRR PPDU when calculating the transmit power of the PSRT PPDU. This spatial multiplexing mechanism improves the accuracy of the PSRT PPDU transmit power calculation, reduces interference to the spatial multiplexing device, and improves system efficiency.
[0096] FIG. 6 illustrates an example environment 600 in which embodiments of the present disclosure may be implemented.
[0097] As shown in FIG6 , environment 600 includes two spatial multiplexing devices, namely a first spatial multiplexing device 602 and a second spatial multiplexing device 604. In this example, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 are both implemented by access points (APs). Environment 600 also includes STAs 606, STAs 608, and STAs 610, wherein STAs 606 and 608 can communicate with the first spatial multiplexing device 602, and STA 610 can communicate with the second spatial multiplexing device 604. The communication between the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 and the STAs 606, 608, and 610 can be performed wirelessly. Such communication can follow any appropriate communication technology and corresponding communication standards. As shown in FIG6 , the first spatial multiplexing device 602, STAs 606, and 608 belong to one BSS 612, while the second spatial multiplexing device 604 and STA 610 belong to another BSS 614. The two BSSs 612 and 614 are OBSSs. In some embodiments, only one STA in BSS 612 may communicate with the first spatial multiplexing device 602. Multiple STAs in BSS 614 may communicate with the second spatial multiplexing device 604.
[0098] While the second spatial multiplexing device 604 located in the BSS 614 can perform data transmission with the STA 610, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 located in the BSS 612 can receive information sent by the second spatial multiplexing device 604. Conversely, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 can also receive information sent by the first spatial multiplexing device 602. The first spatial multiplexing device 602 can adaptively adjust the power of the PPDU transmitted by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 to the STA 608 based on the spatial multiplexing parameters transmitted by the second spatial multiplexing device 604. Similarly, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 can also adaptively adjust the power of the PPDU transmitted by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 to the STA 610 based on the spatial multiplexing parameters transmitted by the first spatial multiplexing device 602.
[0099] It should be understood that the implementation of the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 by an access point (AP) is merely an example and not a limitation. The first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 of the present disclosure are not limited to the AP in this example, but depending on the specific implementation and scenario, can be various other devices suitable for spatial multiplexing transmission, including but not limited to APs and STAs such as communication servers, routers, switches, bridges, computers, and mobile phones. In addition, for illustrative purposes only, FIG6 shows the devices communicating with the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 as STAs. The present disclosure is not limited to this, but depending on the specific implementation and scenario, can be other communication devices, including but not limited to APs and STAs such as communication servers, routers, switches, bridges, computers, and mobile phones.
[0100] It should also be understood that environment 600 shows two spatially multiplexed devices and three devices communicating therewith for illustrative purposes only, namely, STA 606, STA 608, and STA 610. However, embodiments of the present disclosure may be extended to apply to other numbers of spatially multiplexed devices, which may communicate with any suitable number of other devices.
[0101] According to certain embodiments of the present disclosure, after determining to perform spatial multiplexing transmission with the second spatial multiplexing device 604, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 determines the transmission power for sending the PSRT PPDU based on the value of the SRP normalized to the bandwidth of the subband in the working frequency band and the RPL of the PSRR PPDU from the second spatial multiplexing device 604.
[0102] 7A , 7B , and 7C , an example spatial multiplexing transmission process for the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 will be discussed below. In the examples shown in FIG7A , 7B , and 7C , the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 are both implemented by APs labeled AP2 and AP1, respectively.
[0103] First, reference is made to FIG. 7A , which illustrates a schematic diagram of a spatial multiplexing transmission process 700A according to certain embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0104] As shown in Figure 7A , according to 802.11be, AP1 (as an example of the second spatial multiplexing device 604) first sends a PSRR PPDU 701 containing a trigger frame to STA1. In some embodiments, PSRR PPDU 701 can be any PPDU (e.g., a PSRR PPDU carrying a management frame). AP2 then uses only the PSRR PPDU to obtain the RPL. It then uses any PPDU sent by STA1 that carries an SRP (e.g., a HE / EHT TB PPDU) to obtain the SRP value. This will be further explained below with reference to Figure 7C .
[0105] The main difference between process 700 and process 500 is that the PSRR PPDU 701 carrying the trigger frame 205 can schedule both STA1's HE TB PPDU and / or EHT TB PPDU. AP2 (as an example of the first spatial multiplexing device 602) can perform spatial multiplexing based on the HE and / or EHT TB PPDUs. In some embodiments, AP2 may not receive (or perform spatial multiplexing based on) the HE and / or EHT TB PPDUs, and may perform spatial multiplexing directly using the PSRR PPDU carrying the trigger frame. This will be further explained below with reference to FIG. 7B.
[0106] As shown in Figure 7A, after receiving a trigger frame in which the common information field includes uplink spatial reuse (UL Spatial Reuse) and / or the special user field includes EHT uplink spatial reuse, STA1 transmits HE TB PPDU 702 and / or EHT TB PPDU 703. The subsequent process of AP2 sending PSRT PPDU is similar to the spatial multiplexing transmission process 500 of 802.11ax and is not further described here.
[0107] An example of indicating the SPR through a trigger frame is discussed below with reference to FIG. 7D .
[0108] FIG7D is a schematic diagram illustrating the frame format of some subfields in the common information field and the user information field included in a trigger frame according to certain embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0109] As shown in FIG7D , the common information field 705 in the trigger frame includes four 4-bit uplink parameterized spatial reuse (UL PSR) fields 710. In the frame format shown in FIG7D , the user information list field 715 also includes a special user information field, namely, the association identifier 12 (AID12) field 720. This field 720 indicates a predetermined value (2007), indicating that it is an extension of the common information field and includes two 4-bit UL SRP fields 725 and 730 for the EHT TB PPDU, labeled EHT UL SRP1 and EHT UL SRP2, respectively.
[0110] For different bandwidths, the values of EHT UL SRP1 and EHT UL SRP2 can be set as follows:
[0111] When the bandwidth is 20 MHz, EHT UL SRP1 = EHT UL SRP2;
[0112] When the bandwidth is 40 MHz, EHT UL SRP1 represents the first 20 MHz sub-band, and EHT UL SRP2 represents the second 20 MHz sub-band. To prevent confusion caused by channel allocation, when the bandwidth is 2.4 GHz, EHT UL SRP1 = EHT UL SRP2.
[0113] When the bandwidth is 80 MHz, the two EHT UL SRPs respectively represent any one 20 MHz sub-band in two 40 MHz sub-bands, wherein the two 20 MHz sub-bands in a certain 40 MHz sub-band have the same value.
[0114] When the bandwidth is 160 MHz, the two EHT UL SRPs respectively represent any one 20 MHz sub-band in the two 80 MHz sub-bands, wherein the values of the four 20 MHz sub-bands in one 80 MHz sub-band are the same.
[0115] When the bandwidth is 320 MHz, the two EHT UL SRPs respectively represent any one 20 MHz sub-band in the two 160 MHz sub-bands, wherein the eight 20 MHz sub-bands in one 160 MHz sub-band have the same value.
[0116] The above-mentioned SRP setting method is only a setting method of certain embodiments of the present disclosure. The present disclosure is not limited thereto, and other setting methods are possible.
[0117] FIG7B shows a schematic diagram of a spatial multiplexing transmission process 700B according to certain other embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0118] The transmission process shown in FIG7B is identical or similar to that in FIG7A , and will not be further described here. The following primarily discusses the differences between the two. As previously described, in process 700A shown in FIG7A , STA1 begins spatial multiplexing transmission after receiving HE TB PPDU 702 and / or EHT TB PPDU 703. In contrast, in process 700B shown in FIG7B , AP2 begins spatial multiplexing transmission after receiving PSRR PPDU 701 carrying a trigger frame. That is, after time 735 in FIG7B , AP2 decides to perform spatial multiplexing transmission. This is regardless of whether HE TB PPDU 702 and / or EHT TB PPDU 703 are transmitted. In other words, in the embodiment shown in FIG7B , AP2 performs spatial multiplexing transmission only using PSRR PPDUs. In some embodiments, STA1 may not transmit HE / EHT TB PPDUs, for example, if STA1's channel is busy or STA1 does not correctly receive the trigger frame.
[0119] FIG7C shows a schematic diagram of a spatial multiplexing transmission process 700C according to certain other embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0120] The transmission process shown in Figure 7C is identical or similar to that shown in Figures 7A and 7B , and no further description is given here. In process 700C, AP2 can decide to perform spatial multiplexing transmission without receiving a trigger frame from AP1. As shown in Figure 7C , AP1 transmits a PSRR PPDU 740 carrying a beacon frame. AP2 can obtain a RPL upon receiving the beacon frame. Subsequently, AP2 can perform spatial multiplexing transmission after receiving a HETB PPDU 745 and / or an EHT PPDU 750.
[0121] 8 shows a flowchart of a spatial multiplexing method 800 according to certain embodiments of the present disclosure. The method 800 may be performed by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 or the second spatial multiplexing device 604. For ease of discussion, the method 800 will be described below from the perspective of the first spatial multiplexing device 602 with reference to FIG. 9 .
[0122] In the method 800 , at block 810 , the first spatial multiplexing device 602 receives part or all of a PSRR PPDU transmitted by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 on the first frequency band in which the second spatial multiplexing device 604 operates.
[0123] The first frequency band is the operating frequency band of the second spatial multiplexing device 604, and its bandwidth may include 20 MHz, 40 MHz, 80 MHz, 160 MHz, 320 MHz, etc. The first frequency band includes one or more sub-bands (commonly also referred to as sub-channels or sub-blocks) with the same bandwidth. The bandwidth of the sub-band may also include 20 MHz, 40 MHz, 80 MHz, 160 MHz, 320 MHz, etc. As an example, if the first frequency band is 320 MHz and the bandwidth of the sub-band is 20 MHz, then the first frequency band includes 16 sub-bands. Similarly, if the first frequency band is 320 MHz and the bandwidth of the sub-band is 40 MHz, then the first frequency band includes 8 sub-bands.
[0124] According to different scenarios, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 receives part or all of the PSRR PPDU sent on the first frequency band by the second spatial multiplexing device 604. This will be further described below with reference to FIG9.
[0125] FIG9 is a schematic diagram showing the channel division of 80 / 160 / 320 MHz bandwidth in the 6 GHz frequency band according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0126] As shown in Figure 9, 802.11be designs two 320 MHz channels, 905 and 910, to efficiently utilize channels. These channels are labeled 320-1 and 320-2, respectively, with center frequencies 31 / 95 / 159 and 63 / 127 / 191. In Figure 9, UNII stands for Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) radio band.
[0127] In an embodiment where the first spatial multiplexing device 602 is implemented by an AP and operates on channel 320-2, if the first spatial multiplexing device 602 receives the PSRR PPDU sent by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 on channel 320-1, the received power is approximately equal to half of its entire PSRR PPDU bandwidth (BW).
[0128] For example, in an embodiment where the first spatial multiplexing device 602 is implemented by a station (STA) and the STA only has 80MHz capability or operates in 80MHz mode, when the first spatial multiplexing device 602 receives a PSRR PPDU with a bandwidth of 160MHz sent by the second spatial multiplexing device 604, it can only receive an 80MHz part thereof, and the power it receives is approximately equal to half of the entire PSRR PPDU BW.
[0129] As can be seen, if the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 operate on channels with different channel center frequencies, one spatial multiplexing device can only receive a portion of the PSRR PPDU sent by the other spatial multiplexing device. This results in a bandwidth mismatch problem. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 takes this issue into account when determining the transmit power of the PSRR PPDU, as will be described in detail below.
[0130] In some embodiments, the PSRR PPDU transmitted by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 may include a trigger frame (e.g., the trigger frame 205 shown in FIG. 2 ). For example, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may receive a PSRR PPDU including a trigger frame transmitted by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 to the STA 610. The trigger frame may have a format other than the format shown in FIG. 2 .
[0131] Continuing with reference to FIG8 , at block 820 , based on the SRP value, which is based on the subband bandwidth granularity, and the RPL of the PSRR PPDU, which is based on the bandwidth granularity, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 determines a reference transmit power for transmitting the PSRT PPDU on the second frequency band. The second frequency band is the operating frequency band of the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and also includes one or more subbands. The bandwidth of the subbands of the second frequency band is the same as the bandwidth of the subbands of the first frequency band, and the second frequency band at least partially overlaps with the first frequency band. In this way, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 is able to receive the PSRR PPDU from the second spatial multiplexing device 604.
[0132] In certain embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 can obtain the SRP for each subband specified by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 and included in the trigger frame carried in the received PSRR PPDU, and calculate the SRP value with subband bandwidth granularity accordingly. In certain embodiments, the intended recipient of the PSRR PPDU (e.g., STA 610) can copy the UL SRP field in the trigger frame of the PSRR PPDU received from the second spatial multiplexing device 604 into the HE-SIG-A field of the transmitted HE TB PPDU, and / or copy the EHT UL SRP field in the received trigger frame into the U-SIG field of the transmitted EHT TB PPDU. Accordingly, after receiving the HE TB PPDU and / or EHT TB PPDU, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 can obtain the SRP for each subband. Then, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 can calculate the transmission power used to send the PSRT PPDU based on one or more of the UL SRP value in the trigger frame, the EHT UL SRP value, the SRP value in the HE TB PPDU, and the EHT SRP value in the U-SIG.
[0133] In certain embodiments, as described above, the SRP value may be present not only in the trigger frame in the PSRR PPDU, but also in the HE / EHT TB PPDU sent by the intended recipient of the PSRR PPDU (e.g., STA 610). In this example, if the first spatial multiplexing device 602 receives the PSRR PPDU sent by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 and obtains the RPL from the preamble, but does not receive the trigger frame in the data field, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may obtain the BW and PSR from the HE / EHT TB PPDU from the STA (e.g., STA 610).
[0134] In some embodiments, the PSRR PPDU may not carry a trigger frame but a management frame (such as a beacon frame). In this case, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may determine the RPL based on the PSRR PPDU and obtain the SRP value from the HE / EHT PPDU sent by other devices (such as the STA communicating with the second spatial multiplexing device 604). As an example, in addition to the HE / EHT TB PPDU, the HE / EHT PPDU may also include one or more of the HE Multiple User (MU) PPDU, the EHT MU PPDU, the HE Single User (SU) PPDU, and the HE Extended Range (ER) SU PPDU. In terms of timing, the PSRR PPDU and the HE / EHT PPDU may not be adjacent. The SRP value in the HE / EHT PPDU may be received from the second spatial multiplexing device 604. Alternatively or additionally, the SRP value may be an SRP value set autonomously by other devices. Both the UL SRP and the EHT UL SRP represent values for a specific subband (e.g., a bandwidth of 20 MHz). As previously mentioned, existing multiplexing methods do not normalize the SRP value, RPL, and PSRT PPDU transmit power to the same bandwidth, resulting in inaccurate calculated transmit power. Therefore, to ensure accuracy, embodiments of the present disclosure also normalize the RPL to the subband bandwidth, e.g., 20 MHz.
[0135] To this end, in some embodiments, the following formula 1 may be used to determine the transmit power of the PSRT PPDU:
[0136]
[0137] TxPower PSRT The total transmit power of the PSRT PPDU transmitted by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 is an example of the reference transmit power of the PSRT PPDU on the second frequency band. In this example, the reference transmit power of the PSRT PPDU is determined for the entire second frequency band. The reference transmit power of the PSRT PPDU on the entire second frequency band is determined by normalizing the entire operating frequency band to 20 MHz. In addition, BW PSRT Indicates the bandwidth of the PSRT PPDU (ie, the bandwidth of the second frequency band); PSR kth,20MHzIndicates the UL SRP corresponding to the kth 20 MHz within the PSRR PPDU bandwidth, such as the value of the PSR indicated in one or more UL SRP fields in the trigger frame, one or more SRP fields in the HE-SIG-A field in the HE PPDU, one or more EHT UL SRP fields in the trigger frame, and / or one or more EHT SRP fields in the U-SIG field in the EHT PPDU. PSRR represents the total power of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 within the bandwidth of the PSRR PPDU, BW PSRR Indicates the bandwidth of the PSRR PPDU (ie, the bandwidth of the first frequency band).
[0138] It can be seen that the above formula TxPower PSRT 20MHz normalization was performed; RPL PSRR Normalization to 20 MHz was performed.
[0139] In some embodiments, the first frequency band in which the second spatial multiplexing device 604 operates may include multiple sub-bands, and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 specifies multiple SRP values for these sub-bands. For example, as described above, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 may indicate the values of these SRPs by one or more UL SRP fields in the trigger frame, one or more SRP fields in the HE-SIG-A field in the HE PPDU, one or more EHT UL SRP fields in the trigger frame, and / or one or more EHT SRP fields in the U-SIG field in the EHT PPDU. In this case, the value of the SRP with bandwidth as the granularity may take the minimum value among the multiple values of the SRP. For example, for each PSR kth,20MHz When calculating, you can take the minimum PSR within the PSRR PPDU BW range (i.e. the first frequency band) kth,20MHz Alternatively, different TxPower can be calculated using different SRP values for different k. PSRT , where k = 1…, BW PSRR / 20MHz.
[0140] In the above embodiment, TxPower is calculated by formula (1). PSRT and RPL PSRR Normalization is performed so that the variables in the inequality all represent a value at 20 MHz. In this way, the accuracy of transmit power calculation can be improved.
[0141] As mentioned earlier, as shown in Figure 9, 802.11be designs two 320MHz channels 905 and 910 for efficient channel utilization: channel 320-1 with center frequencies 31 / 95 / 159 and channel 320-2 with center frequencies 63 / 127 / 191, respectively. When the first spatial multiplexing device 602, operating on channel 320-2, receives a PSRR PPDU sent by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 on channel 320-1, the received power is approximately half of the total PSRR PPDU BW. For another example, if the first spatial multiplexing device 602 is implemented by a station (STA) that only has 80MHz capability or operates in 80MHz mode, then when the first spatial multiplexing device 602 receives a 160MHz PSRR PPDU, it can only receive the 80MHz portion of the PPDU, and the received power is similarly approximately half of the total PSRR PPDU BW. It can be seen that if the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 operate on channels with different channel center frequencies, one of the spatial multiplexing devices can only receive part of the PSRR PPDU sent by the other spatial multiplexing device, that is, a bandwidth mismatch occurs.
[0142] If the width of the frequency range in which the first spatial multiplexing device 602 receives the PSRR PPDU is not the entire bandwidth of the second spatial multiplexing device 604 transmitting the PSRR PPDU, but a portion of the bandwidth of the partial PSRR PPDU, the received RPL PSRR will become smaller, according to formula 2, which will cause the calculated TxPower PSRT More than is actually allowed. Accordingly, in some embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may determine the RPL of the PSRR PPDU based on one or more sub-bands in the first frequency band occupied by part or all of the received PSRR PPDU, so as to take the bandwidth mismatch into account when calculating the transmit power of the PSRT PPDU, thereby further improving the accuracy of the transmit power calculation.
[0143] A specific example of how the first spatial multiplexing device 602 determines the reference transmit power for transmitting the PSRT PPDU on the second bandwidth in consideration of bandwidth mismatch is discussed below.
[0144] In some embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may use the following formula to determine the transmit power of the PSRT PPDU:
[0145]
[0146] Among them BW PSRR,RxIndicates the PSRR PPDU frequency range received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602, RPL PSRR,Rx represents the power of the PSRR PPDU frequency range received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602. By comparing Formula 1 with Formula 3, it can be found that the parameter RPL is used in Formula 3. PSRR,Rx Replaces the parameter RPL in Formula 1 PSRR and use the parameter BW PSRR,Rx Replaces the parameter BW in Formula 1 PSRR .
[0147] In Formula 3, the PSRR PPDU frequency range received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 is used as the normalization parameter instead of always using the entire PSRR PPDU bandwidth, and accordingly, the power of the PSRR PPDU frequency range received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 is used instead of the total power of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 within the frequency range of the PSRR PPDU for calculation, thereby solving the problem caused by bandwidth mismatch and further improving the accuracy of transmit power calculation.
[0148] In some embodiments, bandwidth-granular RPL is determined based on overlapping subbands between one or more subbands in the first frequency band and the second frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDUs received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602. A specific example is discussed below.
[0149] In this example, in addition to using BW PSRR,Rx and RPL PSRR,Rx , you can also use BW <PSRR,PSRT> and RPL <PSRR,PSRT> , as shown in the following formula 3a, where BW <PSRR,PSRT> The size of the frequency range representing the overlapping area of the PSRT PPDU occupied frequency band (ie, the second frequency band) and the PSRR PPDU occupied frequency band (ie, the first frequency band), RPL <PSRR,PSRT> Represents the power of the PSRR PPDU received in the overlapped area.
[0150]
[0151] In an embodiment in which the first frequency band includes multiple sub-bands and the SRP for these sub-bands has multiple values, when using formula 3a for calculation, for each PSR kth,20MHz , the minimum PSR in the overlapping area of the first and second frequency bands can be taken kth,20MHz Alternatively, different TxPower can be calculated using corresponding different SRP values for different k.PSRT , where k = 1…, BW <PSRR,PSRT> / 20MHz.
[0152] This formula takes into account the situation where the PSRT PPDU BW and the range of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 are different. For example, the overlapping area is 160MHz, and the transmitted PSRT PPDU is a certain 80MHz within the 160MHz range. Then BW <PSRR,PSRT> Equal to 80MHz, RPL <PSRR,PSRT> is the power of the PSRR PPDU received within the 80MHz. PSRT can be calculated accurately.
[0153] When the PSRT PPDU BW is greater than the frequency range of the overlapping area of the PSRT PPDU and PSRR PPDU bandwidths, the frequency range of the overlapping area of the PSRT PPDU and PSRR PPDU bandwidths is the PSRR PPDU frequency range received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602. At this time, Formula 3 is equal to Formula 3a.
[0154] In some embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and / or the second spatial multiplexing device 604 may perform preamble puncturing when transmitting a PPDU. Preamble puncturing means that the preamble and data are not transmitted, or in other words, no energy is transmitted, on a specific 20 MHz subband within the PPDU bandwidth. The above formula always uses the entire PPDU bandwidth as the normalized parameter and does not consider preamble puncturing. For example, Formula 1 can be equivalent to the following formula:
[0155]
[0156] When preamble puncturing is present, the total bandwidth of the PSRR PPDU and / or PSRT PPDU is greater than the equivalent bandwidth of power transmission, which will cause TxPower PSRT Assuming that the punctured portion of the preamble can occupy up to 50% of the entire PPDU bandwidth, then using the entire PPDU bandwidth instead of the equivalent bandwidth with power transmission will cause the right side of the inequality to be at most 3+3=6dB larger than the actual situation, which means that the calculated TxPower PSRT At most 6dB larger than the actual allowable value, where the PPDU BW is twice the equivalent bandwidth, i.e., 10×log 10 2≈3dB.
[0157] Accordingly, in an embodiment in which the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and / or the second spatial multiplexing device 604 performs preamble puncturing on the PSRR PPDU and / or PSRT PPDU, in order to further improve the accuracy of the transmit power calculation, the RPL of the PSRR PPDU with sub-band bandwidth as the granularity can be determined based on the non-punctured sub-band in the first frequency band or the second frequency band.
[0158] In some embodiments, the calculation of the transmit power of the PSRT PPDU may take into account both the overlap and puncturing of the first frequency band and the second frequency band. For example, the RPL with subband bandwidth as the granularity is determined based on one of the following: the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in one or more subbands in the first frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDUs received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602, or the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in an overlapping subband between one or more subbands in the first frequency band and the second frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDUs received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602.
[0159] Alternatively or additionally, in some embodiments, the reference transmit power of the PSRT PPDU may be determined based on one of: the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in the second frequency band, or the bandwidth of an unpunctured subband in an overlapping subband between one or more subbands in the first frequency band occupied by part or all of the PSRR PPDU received by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second frequency band.
[0160] A specific example of determining the reference transmit power of the PSRT PPDU in consideration of both the overlap and puncturing of the first and second frequency bands is discussed below.
[0161] In some embodiments, Formula 3 can be further improved as follows:
[0162]
[0163] Among them BW PSRT,non-punc Represents the equivalent bandwidth remaining after removing the puncturing part; BW PSRR,Rx,non-punc Represents the equivalent bandwidth of the received PSRR PPDU frequency range minus the puncture part. Because no energy is sent in the puncture part, RPL PSRR,Rx Equal to RPL PSRR,Rx,non-punc .
[0164] Similar to some of the aforementioned embodiments, the received PSRR PPDU frequency range may also be replaced by the overlapping region of the frequency bands occupied by the PSRT PPDU and the PSRR PPDU. <PSRR,PSRT>,non-puncThe equivalent bandwidth remaining after removing the puncturing portion from the overlapping area of the PSRT PPDU and PSRR PPDU bandwidths. Formula 3a, taking puncturing into account, can be expressed as:
[0165]
[0166] Similarly, RPL <PSRR,PSRT> and RPL <PSRR,PSRT>,non-punc same.
[0167] Because the PSRT PPDU is to be transmitted by the first spatial multiplexing device 602, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 knows its puncturing status or the expected puncturing status. Regarding the puncturing status of the PSRR PPDU, in some embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 determines the unpunctured subbands in the first frequency band based on at least one of the following: puncturing indication information contained in the preamble of the received PSRR PPDU, puncturing indication information contained in the PSRR PPDU, where the PSRR PPDU is a non-high throughput copy PPDU, or puncturing indication information contained in a management frame of the basic service set (BSS) in which the second spatial multiplexing device 604 is located, where the management frame includes at least one of the following frames: a beacon frame, an association response frame, a probe response frame, a neighbor report frame, or a reduced neighbor report frame.
[0168] Regarding the puncturing of the PSRR PPDU, in some embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may know it explicitly through signaling. For example, in some embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may determine the unpunctured subbands in the first frequency band based on the puncturing indication information contained in the preamble code in the received PSRR PPDU. As an example, the PSRR PPDU is an EHT multi-user (MU) PPDU, which is an OFDMA transmission. Its puncturing information is located in the resource unit allocation subfield (RU allocation subfield) of the EHT-SIG field. The resource unit allocation subfield corresponding to the punctured 20MHz will indicate 26, that is, a punctured 242-tone RU, where one 20MHz corresponds to one 242-tone RU. As another example, the PSRR PPDU is an EHT MU PPDU, which is a non-OFDMA transmission. Its puncturing information is located in the punctured channel information subfield in the U-SIG field.
[0169] In addition to the EHT MU PPDU, the PSRR PPDU can also be implemented as a HE PPDU, including a HE MU PPDU, HE SU PPDU, or HE ERSU PPDU, not a high-throughput duplicate PPDU.
[0170] As another example, the PSRR PPDU is a HE MU PPDU, and its puncturing information is located in the bandwidth (BW) subfield. When the bandwidth subfield indicates 0, 1, 2, or 3, there is no puncturing, and the PPDU BW can be used directly for calculation. When the bandwidth subfield indicates 4 or 5, the entire bandwidth is 80MHz, and there is a 20MHz subband that is punctured (the PPDU BW is 80MHz, and the equivalent bandwidth is 60MHz). When the bandwidth subfield indicates 6, the entire bandwidth is 160MHz, and there is a 20MHz subband that is punctured in the primary 80MHz channel, and there are 0 to 2 punctured 20MHz subbands in the secondary 80MHz channel, but the specific number is unclear. So for this case, if BW PSRT,non-punc or BW <PSRR,PSRT>,non-punc For a primary 80 MHz channel, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 can clearly know the puncturing status. Furthermore, when the bandwidth subfield indicates a value of 7, the entire bandwidth is 160 MHz, at least one 20 MHz subband is punctured, and the primary 80 MHz channel has 0, 1, or 2 20 MHz subbands punctured, while the secondary 80 MHz channel has 0, 1, or 2 20 MHz subbands punctured.
[0171] In certain embodiments, when the PSRR PPDU is a non-HT duplicate PPDU, the PSRR PPDU may carry bandwidth and puncturing information. Specifically, this information may be located in the service field. Accordingly, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may determine the unpunctured subbands in the first frequency band based on the puncturing indication information included in the PSRR PPDU.
[0172] In some other embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may determine the unpunctured subbands in the first frequency band based on puncturing indication information included in a management frame of the BSS where the second spatial multiplexing device 604 is located. For example, static puncturing information indicating which 20 MHz subbands are punctured may be carried in management frames such as beacon frames, association response frames, probe response frames, neighbor report frames, and reduced neighbor report frames.
[0173] For the above situations, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 can clearly know the puncturing status of the PSRR PPDU through signaling instructions.
[0174] In some embodiments, the puncturing status of the PSRR PPDU may be determined by blind detection of the first spatial multiplexing device 602. For example, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may detect whether a non-HT preamble of the PSRR PPDU exists on each 20 MHz.
[0175] In some embodiments, to address the preamble puncturing problem, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 adjusts the reference transmit power based on a predetermined offset, thereby simplifying the processing of the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and further improving the computational efficiency. In some embodiments, the predetermined offset may be set to 3dB. As previously mentioned, when the puncturing ratio is allowed to be up to 50%, the puncturing of the PSRT PPDU and the PSRR PPDU will each cause an error increase of up to 3dB. Therefore, when calculating TxPower PSRT By directly subtracting a 3dB or 6dB offset when puncturing the PSRT PPDU and / or PSRR PPDU, the error increase caused by puncturing the PSRT PPDU and / or PSRR PPDU can be prevented.
[0176] In some embodiments, the transmit power calculation deviation caused by the puncturing of the PSRR PPDU can be calculated by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 when calculating the reference transmit power (eg, TxPower PSRT ) is adjusted based on the offset. As an example, the TxPower calculated by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 in formula 1 / 2 / 3 / 3a PSRT Based on the calculated value, an offset of, for example, 3 dB is further subtracted. Of course, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 can use an equivalent bandwidth adjustment when it knows whether the PSRR PPDU is punctured, and only use an offset adjustment when it is unknown. In some embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may not make adjustments if it knows that the PSRR PPDU is not punctured. In some embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may always make adjustments.
[0177] In certain embodiments, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 can adjust the UL SRP / EHT UL SRP value based on an offset when setting it to compensate for transmit power calculation errors caused by puncturing the PSRR PPDU. For example, if the PSRR PPDU uses preamble puncturing, an offset of, for example, 3 dB is further subtracted from the originally set PSR value. If the PSRR PPDU does not have puncturing, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 may not further subtract the offset. This approach, on the one hand, enables backward compatibility when the first spatial multiplexing device 602 is a legacy device. On the other hand, it can simplify the operation of the first spatial multiplexing device 602, eliminating the need for the first spatial multiplexing device 602 to consider offset adjustments. Of course, for simplicity, in certain embodiments, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 can always subtract an offset of, for example, 3 dB.
[0178] In some embodiments, if the standard specifies that the second spatial multiplexing device 604 does not make adjustments, or if the second spatial multiplexing device 604 is a legacy 802.11ax device, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may perform the aforementioned adjustments. Otherwise, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 performs the adjustments to compensate for the transmit power calculation deviation caused by the puncturing of the PSRR PPDU.
[0179] Regarding the transmit power calculation deviation caused by PSRT PPDU puncturing, in some embodiments, the offset can be adjusted by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 when setting the SRP value. For example, based on the originally set PSR value, an offset such as 3dB can be further subtracted, thereby achieving adjustment of the transmit power calculation deviation such as 3dB caused by PSRT PPDU puncturing.
[0180] In some embodiments, the offset may also be calculated by the first spatial multiplexing device 602 when calculating TxPower PSRT It should be noted that because the first spatial multiplexing device 602 knows the puncturing condition of the PSRT PPDU, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 itself can directly solve the problem by puncturing (using formula 4 or 4a, the solution on the left side of the inequality). However, in order to simplify the calculation process, it is also possible to simply calculate the TxPower PSRT Based on (Formula 1 / 2 / 3 / 3a), further subtract 3dB.
[0181] In some embodiments, if the impact of PSRT PPDU and PSRR PPDU puncturing is considered simultaneously, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 and the second spatial multiplexing device 604 may respectively perform corresponding offset adjustments. For example, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may calculate TxPower PSRT When setting the SRP value, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 deducts the 3dB offset. In some embodiments, one party may bear 6dB.
[0182] When calculating the reference transmit power of the PSRT PPDU on the second frequency band, in addition to determining the reference transmit power for the entire second frequency band by normalizing the entire operating frequency band to the subband bandwidth (e.g., 20 MHz) as described above, in some embodiments, the reference transmit power of the PSRT PPDU may be determined on a subband-by-subband basis. For example, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may determine the reference transmit power for transmitting the PSRT PPDU on a subband in the first frequency band (the subband also included in the second frequency band) based on the SRP value specified by the second spatial multiplexing device 604 for the subband in the first frequency band and the RPL of the PSRT PPDU in the subband.
[0183] A specific example is discussed below.
[0184] Specifically, in this example, a method for calculating the PSRT PPDU transmit power for each 20 MHz sub-band bandwidth is provided, using the following formula:
[0185] TxPowerPSRT,kth,20MHz≤PSR kth,20MHz -RPL PSRR,kth,20MHz (Formula 6)
[0186] The range of k is in BW <PSRR,PSRT>,non-punc That is, when the PSRR PPDU has preamble puncturing, Equation 6 can be used to determine the PSRT PPDU transmit power for the non-punctured subbands in the first frequency band. In this example, when receiving the PSRR PPDU, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 needs to detect the power on each 20 MHz band and calculate TxPowerPSRT,kth,20MHz with a granularity of 20 MHz.
[0187] For bandwidth mismatch, such as the inability to receive the PSRR PPDU on 160MHz due to the 320MHz channels 320-1 and 320-2 as shown in Figure 9, or when the PSRR PPDU bandwidth is less than the PSRT PPDU bandwidth, or when the PSRR PPDU has a preamble puncturing, the TxPowerPSRT,jth,20MHz on the 20MHz sub-band or sub-channel where the PSRR PPDU is not received can adopt the following rules, where j is used to represent the channel index of the 20MHz where the PSRR PPDU is not received, which can be said to be located at BW <PSRR,PSRT>,punc middle:
[0188] In some embodiments, there may be no power limit for PSR-based spatial multiplexing on 20 MHz subbands or subchannels (i.e., punctured subbands) where no PSRR PPDUs are received. In this embodiment, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may determine the reference transmit power on the punctured subband to be less than a predefined maximum transmit power. This maximum transmit power may be predefined in the system or standard specification or regulation. Because there is no PSRR PPDU transmission on this subband, the HE / EHT TB PPDU triggered by it will not be transmitted on this 20 MHz subband. Therefore, the PSRT PPDU will not interfere with the second spatial multiplexing device 604 receiving the HE / EHT TB PPDU on the corresponding 20 MHz subband. However, the limits on transmit power by the standards or regulations still exist. Therefore, the power for PSR-based spatial multiplexing is still subject to regulatory limits.
[0189] In some embodiments, PSR-based spatial multiplexing is not allowed on 20 MHz sub-bands where no PSRR PPDU is received. Accordingly, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 may determine that the PSRT PPDU is not allowed to be sent on the punctured sub-bands. This is equivalent to puncturing the PSRT PPDU on the 20 MHz sub-bands where the PSRR PPDU is punctured. Because it is possible that the second spatial multiplexing device 604 sends the PSRR PPDU puncturing because other users are already transmitting on these 20 MHz sub-bands, or there are radar signals, or there are incumbent users (which can be understood as authorized users) transmitting, PSR-based spatial multiplexing is not performed for safety reasons.
[0190] In some other embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 determines the reference transmit power on the punctured subband as the average power of multiple reference transmit powers determined for multiple non-punctured subbands. For example, the minimum TxPowerPSRT,kth,20MHz or the minimum TxPowerPSRT,kth,20MHz calculated by Formula 6 can be used. <PSRR,PSRT>,non-punc This method can be seen as a trade-off between the aforementioned methods of not limiting transmit power and not allowing spatial multiplexing. The SRP parameter on the unpunctured 20 MHz subband where the PSRR PPDU is received is used to determine the TxPowerPSRT,jth,20MHz on the 20 MHz subband where no PSRR PPDU is received (caused by puncturing or bandwidth mismatch).
[0191] For example, we can further deduce based on formula 6 to get BW <PSRR,PSRT>,non-punc The sum of all parameters within 20MHz,
[0192]
[0193] in Indicates the summation for all possible k; ∈ indicates that all possible k belong to BW <PSRR,PSRT>,non-punc A collection of representatives.
[0194] Formula 7 is equivalent to Formula 8 or Formula 8a:
[0195]
[0196]
[0197] When the first spatial multiplexing device 602 sends the PSRT PPDU, one way is to satisfy Formula 8 / 8a, and it is not necessary to satisfy Formula 6 for each 20 MHz.
[0198] If BW <PSRR,PSRT>,non-punc There are N unpunctured 20MHz channels in the network, then BW <PSRR,PSRT>,non-punc The average value of TxPowerPSRT,kth,20MHz is:
[0199]
[0200] Some of the above embodiments provide a method of calculating TxPowerPSRT,kth,20MHz 20MHz at a time. This method can directly normalize the granularity of PSRT PPDU transmit power calculation to the sub-band bandwidth, thereby improving the calculation accuracy.
[0201] Some of the above embodiments describe how to accurately calculate transmit power. However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto. The UL SRP field can also be used to avoid the calculation process, thereby simplifying operations and improving computational efficiency. For example, in certain embodiments, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 can determine the reference transmit power of the PSRT PPDU on the punctured subband based on the SRP value for the punctured subband.
[0202] 11 , the following describes how the second spatial multiplexing device 604 sets the UL SRP field when the PSRR PPDU has preamble puncturing, so as to instruct the first spatial multiplexing device 602 or other spatial multiplexing devices on how to perform spatial multiplexing transmission on the punctured subband.
[0203] 10 shows a flowchart of a spatial multiplexing method 1000 according to some other embodiments of the present disclosure. The method 1000 may be performed by the second spatial multiplexing device 604.
[0204] In method 1000, at box 1010, the second spatial multiplexing device 604 determines the value of the corresponding spatial multiplexing parameter (SRP) for the subband to be punctured in the first frequency band for sending a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) (e.g., PSRR PPDU) by performing one of the following operations: adjusting the value of the SRP based on a predetermined offset; setting the value of the SRP to a first value to indicate to other spatial multiplexing devices that transmission is prohibited on the subband to be punctured of the PPDU; or setting the value of the SRP to a second value to indicate to other spatial multiplexing devices that transmission is allowed on the subband to be punctured.
[0205] As mentioned above, in some embodiments, by adjusting the value of SRP based on a predetermined offset, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 can make corresponding adjustments to the transmit power of the PSRT PPDU, thereby compensating for the transmit power calculation deviation caused by the puncturing of the PSRR PPDU.
[0206] In some embodiments, if the second spatial multiplexing device 604 wishes the first spatial multiplexing device 602 not to perform PSR-based spatial multiplexing on the 20 MHz sub-band or sub-channel where the PSRR PPDU is not received, the UL SRP value of the UL SRP field and / or the EHT UL SRP field corresponding to the 20 MHz sub-channel may be set to a specific value, such as 0 or 15 (see Table 1 below).
[0207] In some embodiments, if a PSRR PPDU has preamble puncturing, to simplify implementation, the UL SRP values of all UL SRP fields and / or EHT UL SRP fields may be set to a specific value, such as 0 or 15. For example, when the UL SRP values of all UL SRP fields and / or EHT UL SRP fields are set to 0 or 5, it may be indicated to other spatial multiplexing devices (e.g., the first spatial multiplexing device 602) that transmission on the subband in which the PPDU is to be punctured is prohibited.
[0208] In this way, the first spatial multiplexing device 602 does not need to perform power correction on the preamble puncturing of the PSRR PPDU, and therefore does not need to adopt the power calculation / adjustment method in some previous embodiments.
[0209] Table 1 below shows example settings for UL SRP values.
[0210] Table 1 UL SRP / EHT UL SRP field meaning
[0211]
[0212]
[0213] In some embodiments, if the second spatial multiplexing device 604 does not restrict the first spatial multiplexing device 602 from performing PSR-based spatial multiplexing on the 20 MHz subband where the PSRR PPDU is not received, the UL SRP value can be set to a value other than 0 or 15, for example, the PSR value can be set to 14, as shown in Table 1, which indicates the maximum allowed PSR value.
[0214] At block 1020 , the second spatial multiplexing device 604 transmits a punctured PPDU on a non-punctured subband in the first frequency band, wherein a trigger frame carried in the PPDU includes the determined SRP value.
[0215] The embodiments of the present disclosure also provide corresponding devices for implementing the above methods or processes.

The subband in the first frequency band is included in the second frequency band.
[0227] In some embodiments, the first determination module 1110 is configured to determine, through the first spatial multiplexing device 602, for a punctured subband in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band, that PSRT PPDU is not allowed to be sent on the punctured subband; or to determine, through the first spatial multiplexing device 602, a reference transmit power on the punctured subband to be less than a predefined maximum transmit power.
[0228] In some embodiments, the first determination module 1110 is configured to determine, for a punctured subband in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band, a reference transmit power on the punctured subband based on one or more reference transmit powers determined for one or more non-punctured subbands in an overlapping subband between the second frequency band and the first frequency band by the first spatial multiplexing device 602.
