Abstract

The invention relates to a device for locating the jaw and face in three-dimensional images for dental use and a method for creating three-dimensional images showing the relationship between the jaw and face using such a device; wherein the jaw and face locator includes: i) a face locator for determining the midline of the face and the line parallel to the line connecting the two pupils in the eye when looking straight; ii) a jaw locator for determining the midline between the two central incisors of the upper jaw; and iii) a connecting mechanism between the face locator and the jaw locator; wherein this mechanism allows the face locator to rotate relative to the jaw locator.
