Abstract

This invention proposes an ergonomic hammer to address the difficulties in using hammers for manual machining / crafting requiring high precision and stability. Prior to this invention, manual hammer users who wanted to apply force to an object accurately and consistently in terms of point of application, direction, and magnitude required extensive prior training and intense concentration – meaning the craftsman needed both experience and skill. However, the accuracy of these force elements was still low, and especially the stability was poor, leading to low productivity, particularly when the handcrafted product had a complex shape, requiring many precise points of force application, and the direction and magnitude of the force at different points had to be constantly changing.Based on addressing issues such as difficulty in observation leading to precise adjustment; the lack of a support point making it difficult to stabilize the point of application and the direction of force; and the absence of height, speed, and trajectory limits for the hammer head before impact, resulting in inaccurate and inconsistent force / energy magnitude applied to the object, the ergonomic hammer offers a wide field of view due to its tapered head design towards the point of force application. It also features a hand rest to stabilize the point and direction of impact, and markings for highly accurate quantification of impact force / energy. Therefore, a worker with minimal training can easily use the ergonomic hammer, producing higher quality, more consistent products, and significantly increasing productivity.
