Abstract

The invention relates to a working electrode in a glucose sensor, and a method for producing such a sensor; wherein the working electrode comprises: a) a screen-printed carbon electrode SPCE; and b) a catalytic ink mixture coated onto a screen-printed carbon electrode SPCE; wherein the catalytic ink mixture in suspension comprises: i) a solid mixture comprising: powdered LaNiO3 perovskite catalyst material, and powdered multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) conductive substrate material (or MWCNT material); ii) a solution comprising: a 0.5% Nafion binder and ion conductor solution and deionized water; wherein the mass-to-volume ratio (g / mL) between the solid mixture and the solution mixture is approximately 8:1.
