INPUT / OUTPUT CONNECTORS DESIGNED TO REDUCE IMPEDANCE AND CROSSACY INTERFERENCE

Abstract

This invention describes connector designs that reduce impedance and crosstalk, improve alignment and structural integrity, and provide other benefits. The example connector consists of a first semiconductor plate assembly and a second semiconductor plate assembly. The first semiconductor plate assembly consists of the first semiconductor plate body, the first row of contact pins, and the first locking lug facing downwards. The second semiconductor plate assembly consists of the second semiconductor plate body, the second row of contact pins, and the second locking lug facing upwards. The first and second locking lugs are sized and arranged so that they can be interlocked to form an interference junction. The locking lugs can help align the semiconductor plate assemblies and the row of contact pins, maintain better positional tolerances in the connector, and achieve other benefits.
