Abstract
The invention proposes a process for producing water-soluble low molecular weight polysaccharides by gamma irradiation (Cobalt-60) combined with direct chemical treatment of Ganoderma lucidum mushroom waste after extracting the extract. The product generated from this process is as follows: applying gamma irradiation (Cobalt-60) combined with H2O2 treatment to pre-treat Ganoderma lucidum mushroom waste obtained from the Ganoderma lucidum extract process; using a boiling extraction method at 90°C for 5 hours to extract water-soluble low molecular weight polysaccharides from the Ganoderma lucidum mushroom waste mixture swollen in 2% H2O2 after irradiation at 10 kGy; after extraction, the extract is centrifuged to remove insoluble residue and freeze-dried (at -80°C) to create a water-soluble polysaccharide powder with a molecular weight of approximately 10,000 - 20.With a total sugar content exceeding 80% and a β-glucan content exceeding 25%, this low molecular weight, water-soluble polysaccharide product exhibits high growth inhibitory activity against HepG2 liver cancer cells, as demonstrated by its growth inhibition value S(%) and IC50 value (mg / mL).
